Suggestion for Ovi Maps 3.0 Beta for mobile

Hi,

I'm using maps on a 6220 Classic. Since I have a car-radio with a bluetooth-handsfree set (AEG CS FMP 655 BT) I have one big problem: If I connect my phone to this radio, I have no sound in maps. So every time I have to decide if I want voice-navigation with maps or if I want to use the handsfree set.

I think maps tries to use the radio for output and this does not suport it. So would it possible to make a setting in maps where you can decide to use the internal speakers even if there is a bluetooth-device connected?

I think this may be an issue with your 6220, rather than with Maps.

I have a Venturi Bluetooth device, and it works great with Maps as well as all other audio output from the device.

Can your AEG car stereo play music streamed over A2DP? This works for me. Of course, you can only listen to music that's on your phone, and not the radio.

No sadly it can't. It's just for using as a handsfree. So I think it should be possible to use maps with the internal phone-speakers even if the car-radio is connected.

I have the same issue with my N95 8GB / Nokia 616.

If I use the 616 in the SIM access mode the voice guidance cames from the phone speaker what is ok, but I don't have a data transfer connection to get maps data.
When I use the 616 in handsfree mode I have the data connection but no voice guidance not from phone nor from the 616.

What I do is to disconnect the 616 from phone after ignition on manuly and start driving, when I receive a call durring driving I press the button to reconnect waiting for connection between phone and 616 and praying that the caaler dosn't hang up in between. After the call I disconnect phone and 616 again.

You can trust me that sucks!

I also have this problem with my E71. My car bluetooth system doesn't support A2DP. So when my phone is connected to the car, Nokia Maps doesn't talk to me. I would wish, that Nokia Maps would talk to me over it's own speaker so that I can connect my phone to the car, use the handsfree and have also the Maps voice over the E71 Speaker!

@B.S.: Where can I change this SIM Access mode? Possibly I could get it also working with that feature!?

When I bond the N616 with my phone the first time I can decide to use SIMaccessprofile or HandsfreeProfile. The 616 allowed 2 phones stored. I have bonded my Phone twice, on time as handsfree and in addition using SIM access.

Thats allowes an easy switching between SAP and handsfree for me.

PS: You have to allow SIMaccess on your phones Bluetooth menue too.

Today I noticed that such an option is in the phone for the message-reader. In the phone-settings at voide I can choose if I want to use the phone-speakers or external speakers. This doesn't affect maps, but it shows that it is technically possible! So I wich such an option for maps, too!

Having the same problem with my Audi car-kit. Since FW v21 it has a stable connection (prev. droped from time to time) and Ovi Maps finally became quite handy, so the only thing I really miss is a 'Activate Loudspeaker' option. That's all.
