Background
After all the issues we had a while back regarding data loss with Maps 3.01 I created a "known good" back-up of the Cities folder and QF file. I have been using this to reduce teh time taken to re-install Maps. When v3.03 released I used teh v3.01 version of the Cities folder and QF file to save time and installed via the .sis file. This has worked, but the GPS connection quality has been getting worse and worse and the navigation has been lagging both with the N97 internal GPS and an external Nokia LD-4W BT GPS Module.

Bug
Last night I deleted the Cities Folder and QF file and uninstalled OVI Maps 3.03 using Application Manager. I then power-cycled my N97 and re-installed OVI Maps 3.03 via the latest .sis file (07-09-09). I then used Map Loader in OVI Suite 2 Beta to re-install the maps, but not voice files as the English female with streets is not on Map Loader. I started Maps on my N97 with a WiFi connection and allowed it to automatically download Safety Camera and Speed Limit data and then went to Voice Guidance in Settings / Navigation and downloaded the English Female with streets. Everything seemed fine, but . . .

This morning I test the navigation again and the GPS lcok was good throughout my journey staying between half and full and for most of the journey there was minimal navigation lag although most lag seemed to be related to roundabouts for some reason. The bug I identified this time was that the navigation voice was quite quiet and when I went to options and volume it just bombs out back to the navigation map and does not display the volume screen. I have tried this both via the touch interface and keypad navi key with the same result.
