install fails, low memory C:

i have 7mb free in C: memory before launchign the installation. halfway through the install i get a message that C: memory runs low, click OK, then installation fails due to lack of memory. I have tried to install through PC running PC Suite, and also by copyying the sis file to the device and running the install from there. Both fail. Incidentally, i realize it is a separate topic, but what can i do to create space on C: A shame that i have 20GB free on mass memory and run out of space on C !!! Help !

mbrett : thanks for the tip, by unistalling a few of the apps you mentioned i was able to launch the install with 14MB of free space on C: and it went through...still bummed that drive sizes can't be repartionioned though...;)

Another way to regain a load of space is to Hard reset your phone, but this means you'll have to competely re-setup your phone as it formats your C: drive and just installs the FW again. AAfter doing this you start with c.50MB freespace on your C: drive, but this quickly reduces once you start installing things like Nokia Messaging, OVI Maps and N-Gage.

If you do this remember to back-up your phone before hand.

When I do a hard reset I back up any importatnt info from my E: drive aswell and format my E: drive too. This way I start with a completely clean phone.

There is talk that the C: drive situation will be improved in FW v20 due in October.
