The 3D View of maps appears to be missing.
Try swiping the screen to the left or right

I too cannot see a 3D view of the maps. I try swiping screen left to right and as expected the screen changes the street view to the left or view on the map. It does not give me the choice of map, satellite or 3D view.
Please note I tried this while viewing a map from "My Position" and not while in drive or walk mode. The swiping solution works in Walk or Drive only.
seem to bemissing a way to change view when as one stated viewing my position. Except for that it works well.

The front page of ovi maps beta clearly states that satellite and terrain maps are not yet available. And the "swipe to change views" is only available during drive/walk navigation, not in regular map mode. Regular map mode has only the top-down view.
These features will no doubt be added in a future release ... remember that after all this is beta software.
