Maps function was set with A-GPS active etc. No other apps active.
Location>landmarks: pick landmark >options >show on map.
After the landmark is displayed on the map, going back to map menu and selecting My Position shows my position but there is no red spot location identifier.
Editing once more to clarify some things after more time spent with Maps app:
For of a bug I had discovered in Ovi Maps 3.0.1 (aka 3.0.1 aka 3.1 as found in different online sources) I have installed beta version (3.03), but the same bug is also present. It was absent in Nokia Maps 2 and in Ovi Maps 3.0 (though, I'm not 100% sure about this last one). [Nokia 5800, software 31.0.008]
The problem/bug occurs/appears after changing my physical localization [as a clarification: it's most "visible" when in "offline mode" of Maps app]: when I open Ovi Maps application (for the first time after some time and after changing my physical position), it is impossible (for the Maps app) to find/show my current position by using GSM network information/data ("network based" localization), no matter how long I wait [it shows previous one and if I'm under open sky, after some time* longer than with "network based localization" working properly- it finds GPS signal ofcourse and finally shows my position].
But when I open Maps app (even for a "first" time) after long time and/or after changing my physical position and immediately close&reopen Maps app, it shows correct (properly estimated by GSM network) position in just a few seconds (as it used to do be done in Maps version 2) -so "localization service/app" by itself is in fact able to determine my "coordinates" not using "real GPS" data, and the problem seems to be in Maps app only, I think. [As a notice i could say that I haven't changed any significant settings in Maps nor in localization service/app since the Maps version 2 -to be fair, I have to say, that actually I have set them once more to the same values as before just to be sure they haven't been corrupted by updates and are set&display correctly].
I would appreciate if someone could confirm my observations, as I'm thinking whether it's Ovi Maps fault, or there is something wrong with my phone and I should hard reset it, which I would like to avoide because of large amounts of data on my memory card (backup/restore would take very long time).
Of course I experience a lot more problems/regressions with this new 3.0.3 version, but most of them have already been mentioned or described on this forum.
