I removed the current Ovi Maps beta version and reinstalled the current release Ovi Maps (3.01 (23) with Maps version 0.1.22.103) using Ovi Maps Updater. I can no longer view landmarks in 3D.
I also uninstalled 3.01 to bring my N97 back to it's original install of Maps 2.0 and then again reinstalled Maps 3.01. I removed all city folders and the "qf" file. I still cannot 3D landmarks to appear.

Have you a valid license (Drive or City explorer) ? the 3dD landmarks appear only if you have it.

I noticed the same thing (similar version numbers but on an E90), 3D worked for the beta but not the release product.
I wanted to enter ChaseHarrington's competiton, but as the 3D landmarks are no-longer present I could not.
The 3D landmarks thing was a "cool" demo that I think would encourage people to install and use Ovi Maps, as I don't think Google Maps has this.
No, but it worked before when I had no license and before installing the beta. If it requires a license I have yet to see any documentation by Nokia stating this. Hhhhmmmmmmm
To show the 3d build it was mandatory to have a licences from the beta of 11th june 2009.
