Discussion for Ovi Maps Beta for mobile (v3.03)

N97 Users - In order to update to the latest version of Maps, please do the following:

1) Check that you have the latest Firmware (*#0000#). The latest release is v20.0.019. If you do not have this version, please update using Nokia Software Updater http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/device-software-update - Remember to use PC Suite to backup any necessary files.

2) Once you have this firmware, you can go to Software Update on your device and the new version will appear for download. You should also be prompted as you open the Maps application on your device (online connection required)

Tried everything including Hard Reset and still no Maps 3.03 showing up in Software Update . Still don't have the memory app either. At this rate won't be going with Vodafone again if they force Branded . . . on me again. Fed up with seeing other update and not being able to myself.

On my unbraded phone, there was a software update program which was diffrent to the software updater which updates the firmware. This disaperaed on my branded T-Mobile UK phone.
Now the memory update showed up on that. As well as updates for nokia messaging and other items.
I think maybe the networks take this feature out, and nokia should be aware of this, so we can get the software updates also.

The new version of maps was downloaded to my phone. Install keeps on failing. My software version is 21.0.045.

I cant download the update neither with Ovi suite nor with SW Updater. I have a german device. Isn't the update released in Germany yet or is this caused by a device problem?
