although the new menu was a good idea, i didn't like the pass at the end of the screen.
on version 3.0 there are just buttons, and i really think it should stay that way, that we'll use as much screen spaced (in the new version it's a dead screen space).

and i really like you to put in hebrew. releasing this version in english only confused me for a moment.

and i didn't really noticed any big changes. it's just cosmetic changes, which not all of them positive.

But i really like the Maps 3.0. it's one of the best features of nokia on my 5800XM.

It would be good to see the Michelin or event details on a map also (kind of like on Google Maps the Wiki entrys which show things in your area not just the names) it is easer to view a map than scroll though a list.

There are a number of changes.

The obvious ones are the addition of Michelin and Lonely Planet information and the Events information.

Then there is the introc=duction of the Get me Home function (which is excellent). There is also the simple useability enhancements, the marvelous swipe to change views. The Quick and easy access to adding POIs to a route like Petrol Stations (could be simpler but it's an excellent start).

There are also disapointing changes like the removal of Add to route opitions and select from contacts.

The find/serach facility has been merged into one which is good for some and bad for others.

There is also the much faster start-up.

Whilst it seems a clever idea to have the menu on the opening screen, this does break up the usibility of the application. For eample, if using Find Places then enter the details. If you now decide to try searching online, have to go to the menu, to get into the settings option. This closes the Find Places screen. To get back again, need to click on the button in the menu, this opens a new screen and the previous search is lost.

The new menu could be made to work, but does need to be more robust to make it usable.

me too..
it is not intuitive and it has not simple instructions to find options..
It's a navigation software.. to be used instanclty while driving.. it has to be simple, and it has to show the map as opening

i wont to show 3D maps, only when i drive i make 3D, i wont to show 3D or 2D, when i wont.

I also don't like the new menu navigation or the new behaviour of switching view modes. In drive mode i can slide the screen, in walk mode i have to choose it from the menu.

The "Get me home" function was present even in Nokia Maps 1.0, nothing new. Adding POIs to route is the same as in Nokia Maps 2.0. Select from contacts was one of the best things i often used in Nokia Maps 2.0 ... why the hell i have to input the address manually if i can select it from my contacts?

You shoudl note that I did not state that the changes were good or bad. I merely stated what some of the non-cosmetic changes since the last version were.

I too am unimpressed with:
New search option, but it is headed in the right direction with free search feild.
Removal of "select from contacts".
Poor GPS preformance.

I am impressed with:
Re-introduction of "Get me home".
The new GUI (Needs some work but I think it's an improvement)
Swipe to change views

There are other things that have impressed and disapointed me in the new Maps, but maybe I'll get the chance to add those later.
