Nokia Maps vs Navteq

Review for Ovi Maps Beta for mobile (v3.03)

Today I checked the route with Navteq and they were very good, If Nokia owns Navteq then why Nokia is not doing anything to improve navigation. I can not even go anywhere with my Ovi Maps because it takes me through very strange streets, even if my house is straight on the road, it tells me to turn right or left on any road, Nokia is not doing anything to improve navigation, If Nokia continues this way then the future of Nokia is really very bad. Is there anyone from Nokia reading this? Atleast anyone from Nokia post a reply, I want to know that Nokia is still listening.

in july I opened a discussion about the problem that ovi maps (web and mobile) is not able to calculate the right route and to learn from navteq (http://betalabs.nokia.com/forum/topic/3774)
Do you think that someone of OM team replied to me? Of course, the answer is: nobody made it.

Check from how many time someone of OM team has not replied to a bug or suggestion.

Many users, including myself, are very angry about the lack of answers or feedback from OM team.

I think that Mr Marcel (Maps Product Development team) has to delegate one people to read and reply to our feedback, I think that it can be enough 1 hour by day. Kee seems not to do it (is he still working for OM team?) . It would be appreciated by all users.

I think they are enjoying christmas and newyear break and will be back in hot summer.
So buy any other Navigation like TomTom or something else like I have.

It would be nice if they at least had the courtesy to tell us, ""Thanks for your help, but we will no longer be participating in these forums." Then at least we'd know to stop wasting our time.

Although I guess being ignored for this long should be enough of a hint.

Sorry about the lack of responses here. I know it's a busy time for the Maps team, but I'll talk with them about how to improve the responsiveness - or at least politely say that "Thanks for your help, but we will no longer be participating in these forums."

i knew my licenses were expired & i'd not be getting any navigation, so i was just viewing the maps trying to figure out how to go about in an area at the outbound of KL city.
my 5800XM was updated to Ovi Maps, no hopes, can't even see a road right in front of me, & it's an expressway, not just a small trunk road. I then turned to my 6220C, the original Navteq maps that i've never updated since this device was launched, everything is so clear & even the small trunk roads were there.
i'm not sure how this has happened, Ovi Maps supposed to have enhanced from the current maps already available which my 5800XM originally has the same as my 6220C before upgrading to Ovi Maps. it was quite a dissapointment & i was a bit devastated at the time trying to catch an appointment.
i suggest to review the current maps, if the area that hasn't been updated on Ovi Maps, please get the original to cover them, i mean "merge them" so to speak.
i'd not want to pay anything, until it's really a good reliable GPS system for navigation... of course not just in the well known city roads.

Thank you very much for your feedback over the last few months.

This has been very helpful for us in improving the product. At the moment we are busy working on the final touches to the product. But for now, there is no need to write anymore feedback on the Maps page as we'll work behind the curtains for a while and will not responding. Sorry about that and I hope you all understand. We WILL be back!
