OK I didn't make extensive use of maps 3.0.1 on my 5800, but having upgraded to the 3.0.3 beta I don't find it obvious how to swap between 2D, 3D and overview maps - and I guess by extension how you'd switch to satellite view. I guess it is some sort of double click, but would prefer an icon with a drop down or similar.
Swipe the screen left or right to switch between the different map modes during navigation. This cycles between Turn Indication -> 2D maps -> 3D maps -> Route Overview. I thought it was kinda cool actually. :)
Satellite & terrain views are very clearly stated as not supported on the front page of ovi maps on the betalabs website.
