I am unable to log into Ovi Share with Share Online 4.0 on my Nokia N96 and my proper user name and password from my Nokia ID. Do the login credentials from Ovi Share differ somehow from my Nokia ID? And if so, how do I get the proper credentials for Ovi Share?

Ovi Share credentials were completely migrated to Nokia Account in December 2008.
Are you saying you can not activate your Ovi Share account within Share Online, using credentials that work at http://share.ovi.com? I would first validate that you can use these credentials on the Ovi Share website, if you haven't yet.
If they work online, the first thing to check is the time/date on the phone.It must be within 1 day of accuracy for your timezone in order for authentication to succeed, (this was new with Nokia Account).
