using openstreetmaps offline?

Hello,

i know that it´s not possible to use the Ovi Maps with the Sports Tracker even if u have them already saved on your Phone Memory card because the Sports Tracker just uses the OPENSTREETMAP.

BUT it´s possible to download Maps or part from bigger MAps from OPENSTREET.

So in which directory/ Folder i have to put the Mapmaterial, that the Sport Tracker can use this?

In the Sports tracker settings u can adjust tu use MAps form the Phone Memory but they don´t tell you where to put them.

Or it´s not possible to use offline Card Material with the sports tracke even it´s OPENSTREETMAP- material?

Initially I should advise you that Noka Beta Labs is no longer the place to discuss Sports Tracker as not only was Nokia Sports Tracker Archived quite a while back, but the new version 3.02 for S60v5 is NOT a Nokia product as it is developed by Sports Tracking Technologies ( http://sportstrackingtechnologies.com ).

Now that said you initially need to download a third party file manager like Active File from Alie Tan ( http://www.alietan.com )

The new Sports Tracking Technologies version of Sports Tracker stores map data in the following folder structure on the same drive as you installed the Application.

System\data\STMaps\Street

Previous Nokia version of the application stored the maps data in

System\data\Maps\Street

So does this mean it is possible?
I can see the folder...
I do not know why i should install a file manager
Is it possible to use external PC to download from openstreetmaps and to store the data on phone-memory?

If you want to see and/or back up the folder that contains the Sports Tracker map files you need a 3rd Party file manager as Nokia's default file manager does not allow the user to access the System folder.

To answer you last question you can not download the map files via PC and transfer at present. The cheapest way to download map files is:

After doing your first workout go to the map view when accessing vi WiFi and scroll arround the areas for which you want maps and they will be cached in the folder structure mentioned in my previous post.
