Adding New User

Ive used sports tracker for a while and now my wife has started cycling and would like to use it (also on my phone).

I have set her an account up online but I cant seem to define a new user on the phone (e71 sports tracker version v2.06).

If i go settings-users there are 2 users "me" and "unknown". mine is currently paired. I can unpair mine but then I still cant find an option to create a new user.

If I unpair I still cant see how to make a new user, I have tried remaining the default as "wife" but it wont let me pair this one .

I can go on to my user ("me") and pair it, at which point i can put in either my login of my wifes, which would (presumably) connect it to her sports tracker but on the phone it would show the user as "me"

How can i add another user? (my wife) whilst also keeping mine still available on the phone (presumably this is why there is the option to have a list of users on the software I just dont seem to able to add one!)

The unknown, unpairable user is a Ghost User. This is the result of upgrading Sports Tracker at some poitna and not unpairing yourself first. On your phone you will have some workouts whic havbe unknown as the user if you remove these from your SportsTracker folder on yuor phone the uinknown user will disapear from the SportsTracker application.

As for the Add New User. This is not presently possible, although I though I remembered a way. I'll check and update this post if I can find you a way.

Fair enough I can accept what your saying as I cant make it work contrary to this.

so i can now either:
1)not let my wife use my phone
2)unpair each time and reconnect her when she is using it, but its going to go wrong as theres no what to show which user is been used and would be a pain to do.
3)Let my wife use my profile (might set up another activity in her name to keep stuff organised)

What exactly is the role of the 'user' given its one of the three main items in the settings and it doesnt seem to have a purpose!?!

I'd love to know what the NST Dudes originally had in mind for the "User" setting. To me, it obviously suggests a potential of more than one user. However, I can't see multiple users being practical for most situations/relationships, primarily because a mobile handset is such a personal extension.

It has always made me think that it must be either a ermnant ftom an old idea or a capability for a future enhancement. Probably the prior as you suggest. I agree that in most cases a phone is so personal it only resides with one person, but if you think of the NSt software without thinking abuot what it resudes on then the ability to hav multiple users is a good idea enabling the sharing of the resource, although Nokia's accountants would prefer you baught one each.
