Any news on either the app or website?

As far as I can see both the website and app are unfinished. I'm using the unofficial version on my Nokia 5800 and it has problems uploading so I'm saving them to files and uploading manually.

Issues I've seen so far are :-

1) Uploaded files look rough on the map on the NST website
2) I added a route manually and misclicked in the Google window, creating a route that was 4000 miles long.... I've deleted it but the total miles on my profile still has the extra 4000 on it.. Seems like the database doesn't refresh very well.
3) The app on my phone won't show maps

Nokia and this forum seem very quiet regarding the website and app so has there been any news lately as to an estimated date it'll be up and working? It's great when it does work, but at the minute is too buggy to be used seriously.

Both the Website and the phone software work fine for me.

It is a BETA (both the website and the phone software). Which version of the phone sofwtare are you using, what firmware, What browser are you using on the PC?

If you are using a version of the phone software eilier than v1.82 you won't see maps.

There are no dates published anywhere which indicate exactly when to expect a new app version and website fixes. Nevertheless, release of SportsTracker v2.0 is imminent. The N79 Active bundle was announced on January 15, 2009. In this announcement we learned a new version of the SportsTracker mobile app would be made available for all existing S60 v3.x platforms.

This new SportsTracker version 2.0 makes maps accessible and adds an optional heart rate monitoring feature made possible with a new accessory called "Polar for Nokia" WearLink chest strap. No official word on the availability and pricing has been made. Though no official word, the rollout is obviously in progress as you can find instances of users around the globe using the new HR monitoring feature.

New features at the website have been manifesting themselves into place recently as well as fixes for a few buggy issues. Bugs still remain in the database area, as you've pointed out.

Addressing your issues:

1) Try changing the GPS filtering option to high if you haven't already. Otherwise, it appears that positioning data becomes somewhat summarized on upload to the website. If you export a workout directly from the mobile app as a GPX or KML file and open in GoogleEarth, the detail seems sharper than on the SportsTracker website.
2) The developers are aware of the problems with the user history databases and are working on a fix. Problems noted involve user profile overviews and bar charts.
3) SportsTracker v2.0 will show maps with options to obtain them OTA or by accessing maps downloaded to your phone's memory.

The best place to hear about the introduction and release of new features and accessories is by joining the SportsTracker fan club group within the SportsTracker website.

As mbrett points out, this is a beta product. Using an unfinished product can be frustrating at times. Just know the developers are working hard, and on weekends, to get the final v2.0 app ready for us.
