The N95 fits comfortably in the small version even when its fully open to expose the GPS antenna and to date I've had no problems with it
I run in a top that has either a chest pocket or an arm pocket with a zip. Phone picks up GPS fine closed as long as I dont play music at the same time as running (mentioned this in another thread).
Aquapack looks pretty useful, but looks a bit cumbersome. How is it from your experience?
I've missed only three day's running this entire winter with my e61 riding nicely in my zipped chest pocket. Placed in any other pocket my phone has a tendency to shut off, presumably from jarring. Local temp range since November has been 5C to -15C with relative humidity always above 85% and I've seen a lot of precipitation this season.. On the run, the e61's interface to NST application is manageable, albeit tricky, even while wearing running gloves and 4:30/km pacing. Also pocketed is my Nokia external BT GPS module with no performance issues to speak of.
This spring season will have me hunting for a new Nokia device and/or carrying solution, as this current setup of e61+GPS module+occasional camera is only practical with my winter gear. Armband solutions have the greatest appeal to me.
Nike do a more summery arm phone/camer/wallet pouch you could use. I has a elasticated velcro arm strap. I bought it for my N95 8Gb which just fits. the only problem for my phone is taht it it just snug enough to make installation fiddly, but for more compact phone it would be pretty darn good.

I use this armband with Nokia 5800 and the GPS works fine! No signal loss.
Normal clothing should not effect the GPS signal.
There should be no problem with ths kind of product.

The clear panel on the aquapac allows you to safely work all of the phone keys and in no way weakens the GPS signal.

Although it is a bit cumbersome it only took a couple of runs to get used to it in the same way as wearing any new kit when you run. The problem I've found with most of the armband cases on the market is that they either aren't waterproof and anything more than a light shower risks damaging your phone or you can't see the display and have no idea what you're up to without taking it out.
Also having the phone visible means that people can see you when its dark, not unlike a torch.
Buying a phone with integrated GPS is essential for longer runs (2 hours or more) as the bluetooth connection really wallops the battery, I've used the N95 (v13) open for a marathon and there's enough juice to track the whole race with a couple of bars to spare (it'd be even better with v31 firmware).
I cycle and use a Rucksack with side open pockets. I purchased this from Halfords in the UK. My N95 fits snuggly in there. Still does not solve the problem of when it rains and to be honest I only cycle to work which is 10 miles when it's dry. I guess a clear bag fitted over it would work, maybe something like a sealable plastic sandwich bag.
I hold my phone (N95) during running in a regular drinking belt. At the place where normally a plastic bottle stays. It fits good. Only problem is when it's raining. But perhaps then i could use a plastic bag covering the phone. I don't use NST during the run. I just record the track.
I use a Griffin Tempo Armband (the one for the iPod Video). Its fit both my Nokia N79 and N86. The product has been discontinued by Griffin, So you can pick them up for as little a $5 US.
Be sure to get the "Griffin Tempo Sport Armband for iPod Video" I got mine of Amazon for $5 from one of the alternative sellers listed.
My GPS is the "Sockets BTgps" that is mounted on the shoulder strap of my backpack. This is the most ideal position. First of all the GPS is not tracking "additional" movements vs. as you would have it in your hands. Second, the shoulders are free (up and at the sides) and the signal is without interruption. I once held the BTgps in my hands and was running in the woods. I couldn't record my trace over the whole of the run. In the same forest, the BTgps mounted on the Backpack gave me a stable signal. Last but not least, I need water for my long runs as I am running in hot areas. so it all combines ideally.
The Nokia N73 I hold in my hands. In winter or when it rains you just drop it into a plastic bag that doesn't cost anything.
BTW - for those of you who likes to have a real proof bag, look on to the website of Ortlieb in Germany. It's a company that produces all sorts of truly "water proof" items.
