I use NST 2.06 mostly when riding my bike where I use it mainly as a speed indicator and therefore look at the screen quite often. My problem is that the phones screensaver turns on with regular intervals, and to see the speed again I need to press a key. Is there any way of disabling this feature (turning off NSTs power save mode does not help)?

You could turn keypad lock of within your phones general setting.
You could also trun off your screen saver in the same way.

The keypack lock is no problem, it does not activate automatically on this phone model.
I cant find anywhere where I can disable to screen saver. Anyway it would be nice not needing to change a lot of phone settings before using NST.

I have the same issue: keylock can be disabled by setting the option but there seems to be no option to prevent the screensaver from kicking in....
Maybe disable the screensaver in general?
You are correct / There is now option to disable the screensaver.
This would be an advantage for some, although you would still need to press a key to switch the backlight on again to see the screen. Leaving this on aswell would cremate you battery.

I understand but I use the sportstracker eg. for logging a route whilst driving my car. My phone is charging then so I wouldn't bother having this option to disable the screensaver.
For the light; not really needed but would be useful :-)
Anyway, for nokia maps this should be possible no? The idea is to use this as car navigation (turn-by-turn) so....
In Nokia maps you do the following:
Tools / Settings / Navigation / Backlight (Set this to Always On or Optimised
(Always On -> On when powered and when not)
(Optimised -> On when powered and on when unpowered and navigating)
