What is your opinion of Live tracking?

NST's Live tracking is sort of a strange thing. I'm always trying to find new ways to use NST's features, but I've found watching "Live" public tracks uncomfortable. Maybe because it's only one-way and not interactive? Nokia Friend View is much better for locating buddies.

Perhaps the feature would be more useful if you could assist someone in their workout or even in a race situation. Sort of like a coach.

I suppose one could ring a user in a workout and give pacing advice.

How many of you use Live tacking and why?

Don't use it myself but the only reason I can think of is in the case of a big event.

How about tracking your mate running the London marathon on Sunday??

Slimboyfat I am with on that one. I am training for the City 2 Surf. The Mrs would like to know where I am in the race and meet me at the finish. Other friends on might want to see where I am in relation to the TV cameras.

I put a tongue in cheek suggestion before of having a way of putting in text on the NST website that will be spoken out of the phone. I called it Husband tracker to keep me out of the pub but I am sure there are desirable uses.

I laugh but a few of my NST buddies have mentioned they use Live tracking so their wives know where they are on a run. Pub monitoring is funny.

Nokia Friend View would be better for that anyway, if your wife has a suitable Nokia handset.

I want to use it to track the vehicles in my company (I know I've mentioned this before). Live tracking is an awesome feature. The only thing is it uses too much data to make it cost effective. All our vehicles have the same phone set-up as me. The Geo-tagged photos make this a truly awesome program to store a history of jobs!!! - Photo uploads during live tracking would be nice.

I put my hand up for being tracked by wife when running / MX'ing also :). I did use friendview for that last time however.

Monitoring tr the wife on long runs.

Also plan to use it on the way back form a business trip in a few weeks to let my wife know when to put the dinner on.

Might use it on Sunday, so if you want to watch me on my 26.2 mile odyssey then check out the NST website from 08:45 GMT.

Mbrett that is a good safety feature there for the wife. For night runs you know where they are.
