The musical note icons on my map serve no purpose to me other than covering up the map. If I listen to music during exercise they will show in Sportstracker web map. One for every track I listen to, on a long workout they cover the entire map from view. I wish there were a way to turn this feature off once and for all. For me it is a juxtaposed function I can see no real use for and that is a constant distraction in an otherwise very good program
Good point, @LarryLove, and this suggestion has been touched on previously.
v2.05 introduced "Hide Route" and "Hide Laps" from options in map view of the mobile app. Why "Hide Music" was not included just looks like an oversight.
Expect this to change as there exists other issues regarding music data being logged improperly (double listing of tracks and occasional music icons when no music played).

This has been suggested before. I suggested this over a month ago when using v1.82 on my N95 8Gb. This version also had the "Hide Laps" on the map screen.

If it is not only useless but also buggy and takes up developer resources, I'd suggest the radical way: take it out and focus the efforts on other improvements. Nokia should check this out if they've a Spotstracker survey coming up.
I kinda like the music logging feature. It helps broaden the social sharing side of the app adding personality.
But the icons along the route are unnecessary. Instead, a single icon in one of the corners would do the job just to remind you that you used the music player during a workout.
As soon as I noticed the music tab show up on the website, I asked the devs to consider adding a privacy setting that would hide a users music choices if they wanted.
That way, I don't have to answer why I was listening to a communist podcast or... the Spice Girls. ;-)

I would also like to see a privacy setting option for the music. My experience is that every body to whom I showed my trainings said nothing to me about the training but about the music I was listening to lol
