Nearby sports tracker users

Suggestion for Sports Tracker

Hi,

Apologies if this has already been suggested, but I thought that because this year seems to really be the year of 'location aware' and social networking seems to be a really important attribute for Nokia phones I thought this idea would be a good one.

Would it be possible to consider including functionality to determine the location of nearby Sports Tracker users? I imagine the configuration options would be something like this:

Allow your location to be revealed to nearby Sports Tracker users:

On ()
Off ()
Friends only ()

See location of other Sports Tracker users:

On ()
Off ()
Friends only ()

I can imagine having some fun with this when approaching the local cyclist's cafe, maybe an audible alert could sound?
I would have thought all this is possible assuming you are connected to the Internet and your activity is live?:

This does sound like a fun idea. People uninterested in it could choose to haev it de-activated.

The on mode for "see location of other Sprt Tracker" may crash phone though if not done right depending on the number of users in the area. Information overload.

Good point, there must be no threat to the integrity of the main sports tracker functionality, you don't want your phone to crash because of information overload! ;-0

Another feature would be the number of local sports-tracker users to display, or even better, only those within (say) 1, 5, 10 or more miles radius.

Even 1 mile could be an issue for say runner in major city like London who run in the park. This is where most people would run and thus you could get a great number of people in one localised area. Maybe I'm thinking this through too hard, and I'm sure there wuold be a way around that like the 5-10 closest people are shown.
