Great application - I love how useful my phone is!
I don't know what it's like for the rest of the world, but the data packages in Australia are pretty expensive for mobile phones.
I want to use Sports Tracker a lot on a 'live track' but the cost has meant I don't use it. I'm on a 150 meg plan and I use about 1/2 of that normally on other things, leaving me about 60meg free to use on Sports Tracker.
Just to note: Fleet management devices provide live tracking, and for 24 hours of tracking in a month it uses < 10 meg!
To do the same with Sports Tracker I roughly calculated it would use 1.1Gig! Fleet management cost (incl. data) < $40 p/month, data plan to cover 1.1gig for ST = $89 p/month.
I'm assuming that less data used would also reduce the amount of battery used in a live track?
I want to use Sports Tracker when I'm out on the road, kinda like a fleet management system so the phone is always on or near a battery charger. The GeoTagged photos and reports are Awesome, I can go back to any day if I need to and see the photos I want at their locations. It is perfect for me... except for the data useage. Sports Tracker - Driving is a Sport right :)
