After installing the latest version I encountered an issue when having to enter a password.
For example there is a pop-up window saying "key for WLAN" when trying to connect to an encrypted WLAN. Now I tap into the corresponding field and swype opens as it should, but the former pop-up window is now placed ABOVE the swype keyboard!
The swype keyboard is active for inputs, but I cannot see half of the keyboard because of the pop-up window asking for the key of the WLAN.
Any idea how to fix it? Reinstall didn't help.

(Just for info: This bug does not occur on old S60v5 devices like the N97mini, here we don't even get a virtual-qwerty-keyboard but only a simple T9, and that works just fine)
I have the same problem with pop-up window hovering over Swype keyboard when trying to input password for wifi access. However, I found out that the keyboard still works, even the portion covered by the pop-up window. Of-course one cannot see the letter he our she is pursuing until it has been pressed.

I may have found a bug while using swype on my C7. Sometimes swype keyboard window stays behind original window and although it continues to work normally, you can't see the buttons. As an example:
When i try to enter password for some WLAN, i touch on the screen where says "touch here to type".And after that swype keyboard opens however it doesn't come above the "touch here to type" window. It opens between the background and password window so i can't see it. But swype continues to work.I hope you can fix this problem.Thank you...

I believe this problem has only occurred since I installed Swype2.01(4435).
I select a wi-fi access point with a pre-shared key.
Nokia N8 displays the "Pre-shared key for Wi-Fi" dialog box.
I tap to enter.
Now Nokia N8 displays the Swype keyboard, but the "Pre-shared key for Wi-Fi" dialog box is still displayed, on top of the keyboard. I cannot see the keys beneath it. But, if I press where I know the keys are, those keypresses register. If I tap the green checkmark, the keypressses are sent as the wi-fi key.
This happens in either portrait or landscape mode.
I am using Symbian Anna.
Basically, at the present time, I cannot enter a wi-fi key without first disabling the Swype keyboard.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Tap on Symbian Quick Access menu (top right of portrait display).
2. Tap WLAN Networks item.

4. When prompted for the PSK/WEP key, tap the text field.

Hello,
I'm using nokia n8+belle+swype 2.01 with F-Secure installed.
The problem is: when you use swype keyboard (no matter if it's landscape or portrait mode) and your phone is locked - you are UNABLE to unlock it.
Swype keyboard appears for a split-second and then disappears - so you can't type in your unlock code. Only way is to send an sms from 'trusted number' - but when someone don't have one - then there is no way to unlock it.
I do not know if the problem is: belle, Swype or F-Secure itself. I've contacted F-Secure but i'm writing it here too b/c it may be a swype's bug.

The most likely reason attempt has not been made to fix it is because updating to Nokia Belle fixes the bug. That is phones running symbian (Nokia) Belle do not experience the same issue. They are probably biding their time for Nokia Belle update to be rolled out to existing symbian^3 devices.
I use a Nokia N8 and C7 both running symbian Belle. I had the bug when they were running symbian Anna, but once I upgraded to Belle, the bug was no longer there.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, my reply was a somewhat late reply to post #68 by mattleech.
The issue is a bug in this beta-version of Swype. To my knowledge this bug affects both Anna and Belle (But not for all, see post #22 vs your #39).
I would say that it is fairly safe to assume that the promised fix has not only been tested with Anna but also at least Belle.

Moderator joined from Swype 2.1 for Symbian/Bug reports/Swype keyboard hidden when phone remote locked using F-Secure.
Hi,
I have just upgraded my Nokia C7-00 to Nokia Belle and did this by factory resetting my phone and deleting all files and then upgrading.
After the upgrade I reinstalled all applications, including Swype V2.1 Beta. All seems to be working ok but in testing F-Secure remote file locking I noticed that when you attempt to enter the unlock code the swype keyboard flashes up three times before disappearing completely.
The keyboard is still there in the background and can be used but as you can imagine this is very tricky.
Is this a known bug and will it be fixed by the final release?
Steps to recreate:
1) Enable F-Secure remote locking
2) Enable Swype Keyboard and reboot as necessary to ensure it is working ok first
3) Remote lock the phone
4) From the f_secure lock screen click on the password field to enter the code
5) Screen reformats (either in landscape or portrait mode) to make way for the Swype keyboard and it flashes up three times.
6) On entering the code, this is accepted and control of the phone is returned to you.
Kind Regards
Si
I tried disabling swype returning back to Nokia Belle keyboard and this was displayed correctly when the phone was locked. On re-enabling swype again (and fully rebooting the phone) the same issues as described above is apparent. Hope the new release fixes this.

Moderator joined from Swype 2.1 for Symbian/Bug reports/Swype suggest box covered by textbox
In some apps swype window with suggestions was covered by textbox in wich I was entering text.
I've had a couple of issues with Swype since migrating to Belle on my N8.
Today I had the same issue as smjohns. I sent a remote lock request to my phone while testing f-Secure. When I pressed the f-Secure unlock icon the Swype keyboard was displayed VERY briefly after which it dissappeared. It took me a couple of minutes to realise that the Swype keyboard was active but not shown. As you can imagine, it's not really easy to enter a security code when you have no idea where any of the keys are. I created a small grid on a piece of paper which I then used to map the invisible keys and was able to enter the security code and unlock the phone. The next option would have been to #WIPE# the phone and start from scratch which would have been EXTREMELY annoying.
Unrelated to the f-Secure issue is a persistent problem I've been experiencing since upgrading to Belle where the Swype keyboard occasionally dissappears and a pointer is displayed instead. The pointer is uncontrollable and what's strange is that one input field on a screen will experience the problem but none of the others do. Jumping from field to file doesn't fix the problem, every time I go back to the field experiencing the problem it re-materialises. Exiting the application and re-starting it always (at least so far) fixes the problem.
