We would like to thank those of you who participated in the beta trial of the PlayTo application for Nokia Lumia WP8-based devices. We have received a lot of feedback from many users which we appreciate – this is a service that we do for you to enjoy an improved sharing experience using Nokia Lumia devices.
We are now happy to announce that PlayTo is now available in Store. All our Lumia WP8 based devices starting from Nokia Lumia 520 to Nokia Lumia 920 are supported. From the functionality point of view, no new features are introduced, but we have fixed lot of issues compared to the beta version. However, we want to be open and frank in the communication and some issues are such that we haven’t been able to fix in the application side and will require a future firmware update – a typical example of such issue is the one related to Denon AVR and some other music receivers, so some patience is required.
Please note that PS3 is not supported in this release, nor streaming content from the cloud.
We will keep the Beta Labs forum open for comments and feedback – we would like to get more feedback about the functionality – there are lot of good suggestions already, go and vote for your favorite ones or write a new suggestion – that will give us guidance what you expect from us.
On behalf of the PlayTo Product Team,
Lead Program Manager
P.S. If you haven't installed Nokia Play To for your Lumia phone yet, you can grab it from the following links. With Play To you can share your photos, videos and music from your Nokia Lumia phone to your DLNA-capable devices over your WLAN network. This could be that new big screen TV you have or maybe just your Windows laptop and/or desktop or XBox.
There's a new beta version of Ringtone Maker now available (v. 126.96.36.199).
Like before you can use Ringtone Maker to create ringtones from the music on your phone. Simply open the app, select your favourite song and save it as a ringtone. You can cut your ringtone anyway you like, with editing controls that let you choose the start, end and length of your ringtone.
This release adds support for MWA, M4A, WMA and AAC file formats along with MP3. Also, other fixes have been added to improve stability and usability.
As before, the developers would appreciate any feedback you have about the app, and are especially interested in hearing about any issues you experience when music files are stored in a memory card.

Nokia Chat Team
Many of you already use Nokia Chat powered by Yahoo! on your Asha, S40, and Symbian devices to stay in touch with your Nokia Chat and Yahoo! Messenger contacts. Today, we're proud to announce the first beta release of Nokia Chat for Windows Phone!
If you're located in the United States, United Kingdom, India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, or Nigeria - head on over to the Nokia Chat for Windows Phone trial to install Chat for your Nokia Lumia device. We'll be expanding availability to more countries in the near future.
Our first beta release includes the following features:
Person to Person Messaging: Reach millions of Nokia Chat and Yahoo! Messenger users across different mobile and computer platforms.
Push Notifications and Live Tile Updates: Receive new message notifications, preview new messages, and see how many notifications you’ve received - even when Nokia Chat isn't running.
Share a Place: Send information about a restaurant, store, or other point of interest. If the recipient is also using a Lumia, they'll see details, directions, and reviews inside the HERE Maps app.
Broadcast Your Location: Optionally include your city or neighborhood in your status message, so your friends and family know when you're near or faraway.
Find Contacts: Scan your phone's address book to find friends and family who already use Nokia Chat and Yahoo! Messenger.
And if you're using a Nokia Lumia with Windows Phone 8, you can take advantage of these additional features:
Speak Your Message: Compose a message by pressing speak, and what you say will be translated into text.
Voice Commands: Start Nokia Chat by long-pressing the Windows key and saying "Chat with" and the name of an existing contact: for example, "Chat with John".
Lock Screen Notifications: See how many Nokia Chat notifications you have on your lock screen. Start the built-in Settings app and select "lock screen" to begin.
Give Nokia Chat a try! We're looking forward to your feedback and suggestions. A lot more is coming soon!

Do you make conference calls? Then try out Nokia Conference, to join them the easy way. No more switching to the calendar app, remembering the ID/PIN codes, getting the right access number, and keying it all in. Instead just hit one button or even join via voice command (Windows Phone 8 only). It's very handy for anyone that makes frequent conference calls, as so many of us do.
On Windows Phone 8, join via voice by holding down the Windows key and speaking the command "conference join". We'll automatically figure out which meeting is going on currently or about to start, say it back to you for confirmation, and connect you. If your company uses Lync, we'll launch the Lync app to connect you. Windows Phone 7 users get the rest of the features, just no voice joining.
If you find any meeting where Nokia Conference doesn't parse the ID / PIN info correctly, or have trouble getting a company's conference system(s) to work, please let us know. Open the meeting in the app and pick "send feedback" off the menu to easily email us the meeting details. For an app like this, we need your help to make sure it covers the variety of conference systems out there.
Enjoy. We hope it makes your life a little bit easier.

Check out the new Lumia Storage Check beta app, which, like the initial version can be used to show a detailed breakdown of the phone memory usage and do something about it. We've heard people having been able to reclaim gigabytes of storage!
As before, the app will show you first an overview and then details on the second page, app details and now as a new feature, ability to manage your Maps data. The offline maps are hugely valuable when travelling and with the help of this tool, you can now store them on SD card too, vacating some phone memory.
In the beta version we are also adding some debugging to give us a better picture why it fails to start in some cases or just "spins" forever. If you have this problem, please let us know if the beta fixes the issue for you and also if it doesn't.
So, please give it a try and let us know how it works for you. The beta is provided as a stand-alone app, but it still requires a recent firmware that includes the necessary enablers.

If you haven’t tried it yet and use public transportation, it’s a great application to have. With it, you can:
- Search for public transport stations/stops, addresses and POIs.
- Choose from multiple routes and follow the list of directions for buses, trams, underground or trains.
- Get earlier/later journeys.
- Have your favourite destinations saved to future use on your journeys.
- Have your favorite journeys saved for offline usage, saving time and money on data plans.
- Find nearby stations, departure times and even types of transit lines available around your location.
- View detailed line stops and times before you get off.
The app works with the Nokia Asha 305, Nokia Asha 306, Nokia Asha 308, Nokia Asha 309 and Nokia Asha 311.
As this is the debut of our first location application for Asha devices on Beta Labs, we’d love to hear what you think of the app. Your opinion counts!

If you have a Nokia 5800, 5530, 5230, or 5233, you now have the chance to try out the Upload to SkyDrive app available in Nokia Beta Labs. Upload to SkyDrive keeps your images and contacts safe in the cloud, where they can be easily accessed with mobile or desktop devices. That data from the SkyDrive cloud can also be automatically transferred to a new Lumia phone.
We are mostly interested in any memory capacity issues you might face during the setup as well as the application usage. How much free memory you have on C-drive before and after installing this application? Did this application impact the overall performance of your device? We'll follow up with trial members about these questions in a couple of surveys, but you're welcome to post your feedback to the forum as well.

Nokia Place Tag takes more than a photo. It reveals info about the places within your photo, such as museums and famous buildings, which you can then share as a digital postcard with your friends.
You can also use Place Tag to get interesting background info about the places tagged in the photo. And if you need directions, that’s also easily available too.
Nokia Place Tag was demoed at Mobile World Congress 2013. Thanks toThe Nokia Blog for this video:
Nokia Place Tag beta is available for all Nokia Lumia phones with Windows Phone 8.
After you try it out please share your feedback with us. We're interested in hearing how you're using the application and whether you find it useful or fun.
