  1. Still can’t make phonecalls from the contact list if the phonenumber contains spaces. Sending SMS using the same number, with spaces between some digits, works fine. Just like the previous PC Phone version. This should be corrected to make it possible to use whatever notation you want in your contact list, which in turn is synchronized with Outlook and so on..

  2. Cool idea. It’s just kind of competing with Mobile Web Server. How about adding a calendar support? And maybe even adding a support for synchronising it with a Google Calendar?

  4. - Can’t make phone calls neither from phonebook nor placing the digits manually in the corresponding field;
    - the functions (edit, delete, etc) in SMS options are not working;

    Tried both browsers: IE7 and Mozilla Firefox
    My device is: Nokia E61i

  6. Note that the system requirements page says about S60 devices: “Only S60 3rd edition feature pack 1 phones (S60 3.1) with USB connection are supported (Bluetooth is not supported)”

    http://pcphone.nokia.com/requirements.html

    Most of the error reports seem to be caused by trying it with an incompatible device… I guess we should somehow indicate the (in)compatibility lists better.

  7. Doesn’t anyone at Nokia acknowledge the E62?

    There are a number of us out there but we don’t get any software updates (only the E61),
    there’s nothing even close to Nokia Europe, Nokia Beta etc in the US Nokia system/web site,
    We’re S60 3rd Edition but I don’t we will ever see an SP1 or “Feature Pack 1″ update

    I’m glad that Nokia thinks everyone else can afford N95’s or some other of the latest handset at $400-$500 bucks a pop but I can’t and I don’t many people in the real world can or want to.

    My E62 works partially with the Nokia Phone software and I was thrilled to see that happen. Please don’t forget about your non-European Customers.

  8. So as part of my efforts to track down a memory leak on the E62, I did a complete wipe and reload of the device and slowly added back applications.

    Notes Relative to PC Phone and IE7…
    - When the installer runs and tries to install the first time, I get an error that says (or words to the effort that)
    “Install failed. Install base program first.”
    - Any effort to launch PC Phone (installer offers to “Launch PC Phone now”) results in a crash of IE and a “Send report to Microsoft” dialog box.

    Rebooting the E62 and the PC seems to make the connection work (maybe mention that in the installer).

    After the reboots, connectivity does work. Of note though…

    - There doesn’t appear to be a “Refresh” option to reload messages sent and received, via PC Phone.
    - Uisng the IE7 “refresh page” option results in fatal crash (where can I send screen shots?)
    - Default appears to be an option box that says “To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricetd this page from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer. CLick here for options…” Perhaps you should document this in the install and/or provide information for general users on how to fix this (otherwise IE prompts every time PC Phone is launched).

  9. I’m using a N82 with a USB cable. I’m able to send SMS messages and see the message log. However, I’m not able to see the call history nor am I able to make any calls using the PC Phone.

    I use Windows XP SP2 and have tried with both Firefox 2.0.0.12 and IE7.

  10. Very nice application but the calendar access is a MUST for it to be really useful.
