I think Talks supports the N78 since it is a Symbian phone.

However if I’m not mistaken Nokia Audiobook player wasn’t accessible with Talks, only with Mobile Speak.

This may have been corrected, but I haven’t heard about it.

Comeon guys, how about an update. I’ve been looking all over for any news related to when we’d get a newer version that’d fix some of the issues found in the 1.03 beta release. I’d really like to see the desktop app get the ability to define chapters that link to different parts of audio files directly from the GUI. Rightnow, we have to edit files in notepad to get that, which can be clumbersome and quiet counterintuitive.

I think this is the single thing currently lacking in the app. The ability to define chapters is quiet basic and necessary to the whole audiobook listening experience. I really hope you guys can fix this up soon, or atleast let us know when you’d get to it.

Thanks for the app though, it’s something I’ve used quiet extensively.

The player doesn’t handle Norwegian special characters (æ, ø, å). When a title contains one of those it says the file is missing.

Hi,

I have a N78 phone, and I am not able to control the player from the wired headset remote. Is this a known issue?

I Agree, since finding this app any thought of buying anything but Nokia has left my mind.

Is any work still being done on this beta?

The fact that it can’t load files from alist of direcotires is somewhat anoying.

I have to say, this one app would keep me buying nokia phones, I have a ton of mp3 audio books and it is so hard to find a media player that does a good job book marking. When I found this app I was in heaven - works on my e61i very well. Of all the apps I use on my phone this and the podcasting client are the most useful to me.

Apologies from development team but we have been actively working on totally other projects and audiobook stuff has been hold for a while. Hopefully something can be done within near future.

On the other hand, I have been using it meantime myself for several books and at least in my N82, it seems to be working well.

Btw, I bough my first iMac for my home use couple of weeks ago, so maybe there is also better Mac support in future.:-)
Nice piece of HW, have to say, silent, fast and beautiful.

I could moan all day about having to convert my media into yet another format just listen to it in audiobook….but i won’t.
The concept is great but I have to that it should at least be able to play almost all other formats including m4a and m4b.
That’s why I like Scheherazade for S60 so much. I’m running it on a happily on an N81 8GB and it works pretty nice.
