  3. …change log? I can’t seem to find one anywhere. Uninstalling and then reinstalling a product is quite a hassle, it would be nice to know in advance what has changed to make the effort worth it.

  4. Well, it’s stable on my Vista PC (as opposed to the flickering screen and freezing I got from the previous release). I did however have a problem installing the Download! component. It downloaded it and then said “Not Installed”. Luckly it worked at the second attempt.

I do have a few suggestions:
-Add Device Status to the available components (with the option to install it to phone at any time, should the user not have the device at hand at that moment).
-Add Nokia PC Phone to the list too (just like the other components, the user may choose whether to install it or not).
-When you release the final (as in not beta) version, please make it available as a download-once package. That makes it easier to store PC Suite and install it in the future without having to download it every time.

And if this release was much different from the previous one (and by that I mean has new features or includes major bug fixes) please post a changelog. This applies to all applications.

So, very good work so far. Hope we can see the final version soon :)

  5. Seriously, tho’ — what parts do we need to uninstall manually?
Because this suite drops a lot of applications on the computer.

Everything? Photos, Video Manager, One Touch, Connectivity, etc.?

Or just the Nseries PC Suite entry (which leaves the aforementioned apps installed)?

    Please be more specific.

  13. Sorry, no detailed changelog available this time.

The new Nseries PC Suite 2.0 has the same functionality as the earlier version, but it has now better stability and a number of reported bugs have been fixed.

  14. Same functionality as earlier version?? not bloody likely.
The feature I used the most. The ability to send SMS from the PC is GONE, GONE, GONE..
Or am I doing something wrong.?

Did you fix “video freezes after ~35 min of playing” movies, converted by Nokia NSeries Video Manager? (1.1.10)

  27. Spyware detected on Nokia Photos!!! Spyware Doctor from PCTools detected “KGB_Spy” bundled at Nokia Photos Software. If you remove such malaware then Nokia Photos Software will not work. My kindly advice to Nokia is to remove any kind of malaware from their software. You will find the spyware at sqlite3.dll at:

    C:\Program Files\Nokia\NokiaPhotos\sqlite3.dll

    and at:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\MPlatform\sqlite3.dll

I downloada Nokia Photos directly from the Nokia, this means that the “KGB_Spy” was intentionally bundled by Nokia to keep track of it users for marketing purposes - I guess. BAD NOKIA!

  28. You can learn more about “KGB_Spy” bundled with Nokia Photos Software at the following 2 websites:

    http://www.pctools.com/en/mrc/infections/id/Application.KGB_Spy

    and:

    http://www.threatexpert.com/reports.aspx?find=Application.KGB_Spy

Actually it is considered a Key Logger, Very Dangerous!

    BAD NOKIA!

  29. Pancho (and Mick), it’s probably Spyware Doctor reporting sqlite3.dll as a false positive. Sqlite3.dll is a common library used by a very many, many apps, but also by some malware, so some virus checkers thought that file is bad.

    http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/2467
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=21786

AVG Free also reported sqlite3.dll as a threat for me, but they then updated their definitions so that particular file is no longer falsely detected.
