I have also a few suggestions:

- I like to have an option to completely hide the Location Tagger application. Now it is always visible in my tasklist. I prefer a clean list. I see Location Tagger as a machine task, not a personal.

- I like to see an indication of the signalstrength of the GPS signal in the camera application when the icon turns green. The signalstrength is responsable for a acurte positioning. Maybe a little bar with a few blocks on the right of the icon?

- I like to see the GPS information (lon, lat, alt) in the View Details option of the Image Gallery.
Maybe with a link to Nokia Maps?

- I like to have a auto upload function for each type of content (photo, movie, soundclip, etc) to a share site (e.g. OVI, Flickr, Picasa, etc). Now I still have to use a third party application like Shozu for that.
With a auto upload function, I mean that it should be possible to upload content directly (without any action) OR with just ONE click.

- At this moment uploading a batch of pictures using Share Online 3.0. I have to do it one by one and wait for each upload instead of placing them in a que.

- The possibility to change the tag notification sound. Now it is a standard beep witch is used for all kind of notifications. With a distinctive feedback sound you can use it blindly.

- Please include the date and time of the GPS in the EXIF data as well. In case that the phones date or time are not correct, then you still have another source.

- Please include the GPS signal quality in the EXIF data as well, then you know how reliable the information is.

- Is it possible to have a digital compass (like the 6210 Nav) without any additional hardware? With these additional information you can even show the direction of how the photo is taken.

I have been using "Location Tagger" for the past 3 weeks and formed the following conclusions /suggestions.

It has been of enormous benefit in my current research project.

- the ability to scan the phone for images with geotags data so that the user can then "Show on the map" the location of the image.
- recreate the geotag log file, currently the log file is lost when you exit the program even when the images are still on the phone.
- geotag video files and the ability to change it.
- the ability to show all the exif data of an image in file manager on the phone.
- a warning tone and screen message for when "Location Tracker" is about to time out from the gps unit. (On 2 occasions I did not realise that the device had timed out and had 20 photos all with the same long/lat which I had to relocate the locations).
- add "Altitude" to the exif data.

Hardware used
Nokia 6120c, firmware v4.21, and gps LD-4W.

Really hope that you are going to productize the app, ore implement it into the OS.
I'll keep tracking your beta apps with happiness.
Greetings from Amsterdam,
Aatski!

Hi all, we’re in the process of releasing a new beta version of Nokia Location Tagger.

It has many bug fixes, support for more devices, improved usability and “Show on map” feature. :)

The plan is to release it next week (i.e. week of 24-Feb). So… stay tune.

Would love to see GPS tagging built into the video capture too - to enable movies to be linked to maps showing what can be seen a certain locations etc as one follows a route.

... ithink it is time to think about a new gps layer, which is set before sportstracker, Location tagger, Maps, etc. This layer should be startet when a gps-app is be startet. For this layer there should be userconfigurable settings:

- delay time for switching of GPS (like in the Location Tracker) after closing app (maps, sprtstracker, etc), or after no use of camera

- the posibility for a "always log" option (gpx, nmea), means a logfile should be writen always when the layer is startet

For the camera: There should be a fixed setting geologging

- gps on, icon green, photos should be geologed automatical
- gps of, icon red, click on icon to start gps and PLEASE DO NOT (!!!!) AD A STARTUP DIALOG (eg: gps is off, do you want to activate it?), which needs an additional click, which make the startuptime of the camera longer and the use of the shutter (N82) useless !!!

What are the chances that Location Tagger can provide a feed in to the Mobile Web Server application.

Another suggestion: it would be good to have an *option* to embed cell ID info in the files (both images and videos). We've seen how useful cell ID info can be with Google Mobile Maps [1] for phones that don't have GPS, and it's even useful for GPS phones as you can get the cell ID info almost instantaneously without waiting for the GPS sprockets to warm up. So, howsaboutthatthen?
