Minor update for Text Messenger

Nokia Text Messenger was updated to 0.0.8.1. Changelog:

  • Sidebar crashed when connection was lost to the phone
  • Contact database is updated when first time opening the gadget
  • Several performance and stability fixes
  • SMS sending is possible when the inbox is empty
  • PCCS version check removed from the installation

Note: I suggest waiting until tomorrow. The team just found an additional minor issue, and tries to release a fix by this evening.

  1. Hasn’t crashed for me so far.

Seems to not “hang” as much, although, I did clear 1000 messages out, so perhaps this is why.

I think some form of notification on a new message would be nice, I know PC Phone does it, but doesnt work via bluetooth on S60v3 afaik.

Also, the messages dont get marked as “read” on the phone, so, after replying to say 10 messages, I then have to read them on the phone.

Does anyone else have blank “deffered” messages left in their outbox?

  2. After installing the application, I can’t find it in the “add gadget screen”. Only the stander ms gadgets are available? I’ve tried multiple installs/uninstalls.

  3. I can´t make it work, I have the same situation Bloep has… could it be something about the language on vista, because of the installation folder?? - Mine is in spanish.

It’s now the day after tomorrow. Is this comment still valid?

    Yep.

Just tried it, worked fine sending and receiving on Vista x64 with an E50. But it is annoying that the Gadget doesn’t pass the “read” flag on to the phone. extremly annoying.

  6. Same for me as for Bloep. Does not show up in gadget screen. Runnings Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 RC…. Maybe SP1 is the guilty one????

  8. I have Vista SP1 and I have been unable to use it due to script errors. Hope they sort it. Good concept
