Works OK, but on selecting create new message and inputing name it retrieves the landline number. It should show the mobile number of the contact for sending a text.

The gadget does not appear even with the additional instructions from marcos and bloep. I'm running english Vista 64. BTW it took me a couple of seconds to figure out a map is a folder.

Thanx! That did the trick, also for other language then Spanish! To make things a little clearer:
-Got to the map TextMessenger.gadget
-Open the map en-US
-Select all the contect
-And place the content one level DOWN, in the map TextMessenger.gadget.

If the Nokia TextMessenger gadget doesn't work in your Vista in spanish open your documents folder -> AppData -> Local -> Microsoft -> Windows Sidebar -> Gadgets -> TextMessenger.gadget and then move the conteny of the "en-US" folder to the "TextMessenger.gadget" folder, one level up.

NOTE: The AppData folder is hidden, to see it pres alt, and in the menu bar go to "Folders options", and in the view table check "Show files and folders hidden". Sorry for my bad english.

Enjoy!

This new version crashes some times when mouse is over it. Earlier 0.0.8.x versio worked better.

Sure there are many people using the sidebar, but there are many people who don't use the sidebar.
People without the sidebar can't use this application, whereas everyone can use standalone application.
Not everyone wants to use a sidebar...

- "Sidebar typically doesn’t require almost any resource to run"
Well, have you ever visited task manager and saw how much memory AND time sidebar uses? Enable the column "CPU time", that will show you total time for every process, and you will see that Vista sidebar uses a lot of memory AND time. Far more than a standalone application.
Vista sidebar is not good or efficient implementation of a sidebar, that's all...
