Gizmo for S60 was updated to version 1.1.012. The concept seems to be decisively approaching maturity…

  4. The download files work for me… I don’t get it?

I don’t have the changelog but I’ll ask the team tomorrow.

  5. Just a generic suggestion for the beta labs download pages: Add a barcode image next to the download links so we can easily grab the latest version of any apps we may be trying out. Since I initially configured my N95, it is now almost never tethered to the PC. So reducing the number of steps to get to the download link directly from the phone would be an excellent addition.

  6. Looking at the download links, a barcode might take up a bit space… so maybe instead, a link that reveals the code in a div or small popup window. That would keep the current format’s cleanliness.

  7. Decisively approaching maturity? Sorry, but I don’t think so!

Status changings which are not being carry through to the other side, going offline but still happily showing online at the other side for hours, going online but staying offline at the other side, no different icons for ‘away’ or ‘busy/don’t disturbe’ (and that IS a difference, isn’t it?), screen pictures which are not uploading, no typing icon, no option to delete the personal message (only to change it) and the application doesn’t login when I put on my phone, although I’ve checked that option in the menu ….

I love Gizmo for Symbian! The only chat application which is really native, fully integrated with the contactlist of the phone, but MATURITY is still far away I’m afraid :)

  8. For those complaining about QR-codes. Install snapmaze.com in you browser! You can create instant QR-codes for any weblink.

Further more. Gizmo sucks, incoming calls Gizmo calls on my N95 deadlock the phone. Really why Nokia works with a company that ignores serious trouble tickets for month I don’t understand. Nokia could spend it’s time better on Skype to supplement SIP since Skype traverses firewalls without a hitch.

  11. Shortly, there are some big issues that nobody wants to address. Traffic and T9 support, to mention the most common. Gizmo team says they are helpless, it’s your OS and their idea. How do you feel about it?
