My Mobile Site widgets review and plans

Guest blogger: Marton Szomolanyi from My Mobile Site Widgets team

Sorry for the late post. I'm a typical developer who Tommi wrote about. I need to train/educate myself to treat public discussion with higher priority.

So what were the conclusions of My Mobile Site widgets trial?

What's next?

I raised the question about the ultimate desktop widget platform, but it seems that this is a hard issue currently. Honestly I don't now the solution yet, but I will write down some thoughts in the Forum Nokia wiki. (Soon, I promise!)

A widget that links to chat clients and conveys phone status i.e . busy is one that would be a huge hit for Nokia in Asia.

Joel,
Before you expect too much: Currently we implement just sending images from the phone via MMS. Will be available in the picture widget.

I made this suggestion as a feature/feedback submission for Nokia PC Phone but it could work equally well as a widget.

It is the ability to send text/notes or URLs to the phone and for them to be saved as a bookmark, note or whatever else you can think of.

A plain text box where the user can enter a text note, or url, and a radio button to select what the user wishes to do with the text, eg Send to Notes; Send to Bookmarks.

The reason for this request is that often I would like to visit a URL away from the computer on the phone but the URL is either too long or tedious to find via search engine. :)
