Names still don’t appear unless exactly matches. Instead of recognising 01234567890 it has to be in international format +441234567890.

Hi. Great app, but I was wondering wether at some point it would be integrated it to pc suite. And the first bug I noticed is that after a couple of seconds, the names on the “from” field in messages dissapear, as well as the thumbnails (if the name has one), leaving only the phone number.

This is great!
Just some thoughts, maybe very foolish:
Can you include e-mails in the app?
Can you make some kind of archive tool?
Can you make some way of seing the messages or contacts without the phone?
I can see a few names in the “inbox” folder of one of the phones I have connected (if you need I can e-mail you some screenshots of the phone “inbox” folder and of the “inbox” folder of the Communication Center)…

Hi, i like this application . for beginner like me, this is much pleasent experience. much more like it. but, even though i downloaded it few minutes back (that means most recent updated version), names of the message senders does not appear in “inbox” list.
any clue how to resolve that?

Just to make myself clear, i am using E65.
Comment by bhadra — May 16, 2008 @ 3:19 am
Can you type and send emails with this or is it just SMS and MMS?
Comment by jikon — May 16, 2008 @ 4:50 am
Can’t load messages under Vista Ultimate with N95-4… and sometimes trying locks the app. Contacts load quickly.

Calling functionality.
Might seem stupid, but If i’ve got my phone on a docking station, I really don’t wanna fiddle with the phone. If there is an incoming call, have a skype like popup with answer, reject, send sms. If answer is clicked, pick up the call, and switch phone to loudspeaker. Perhaps have an option to use computer speakers/mic.

Somebody tell me please plz, is there any CONTACT GROUP support added in this version?
Comment by Alex — May 18, 2008 @ 7:50 pm
Hi, bug Report!
I was ordering and deleting some old contacts and it seemed to work perfectly… BUT:
Contacts with TWO or more phone numbers, many contacts don’t show all numbers!!!
When i cut from “phone” section to paste in “mobile” section, it pasted the “hidden” phone number! Weird bug, but i can explain in better detail if someone requires so!
Thank you and please beta programmers, check it, couse this application is very usefull!!!

Guys, I can’t understand, why Nokia avoids CONTACT GROUP support in their software? I don’t wanna buy any Oxygen software!!!
Comment by Alex — May 19, 2008 @ 7:36 am
Add GROUPS!
Add GROUPS!
Add GROUPS!
Comment by Alex — May 19, 2008 @ 7:36 am
Looks great guys.
As others have mentioned the contact name disappears after a few seconds to be replaced by just the contacts number (Vista SP1) [edit] Have noticed after a refresh they have reappeared and are staying [/edit]
Maybe integrating threaded messaging (ala Conversation app) could be a plan.

Not working for Nokia Nseries PC suite [sad]
Comment by Geoff — May 19, 2008 @ 7:51 pm
I still just see numbers and not names. N95 8GB (APAC), V20, Win XP SP2
Comment by Mark — May 20, 2008 @ 4:33 am
This is simply indispensable to those of us who only use N-series PC Suite.
BUT a couple of feature wishes :
1. Please make it minimize to the System Tray.
2. Please show baloons from the tray when SMS/MMS received/failed/sent etc.
3. Allow replies/forwards from the hyperlinks in the baloons.
4. Detect and smartly sync the content.

very nice application and a big improvement from to the PC suite.
some comments:
* i’m using 2 phones, N95 & E51
* winXP
* bluetooth windcomm drivers
some improvement i wish to see:
* view, retrieve and send emails
* faster data loading from phone, e.g. retrieval of data should be in the background and periodically. e.g. one way would be instead fetching the whole database from the phone, just check when was the last modification data of the contacts or message db. also cache contents between sessions.
* faster GUI response. currently gui freezes while fetching data from phone. multi-threading would be nice….
* contacts with non standard phone labels should be shown correctly as they are saved in the phone and not how the software thinks its best… this is already a problem in the PC suite
* would be nice to initiate calls from this comm. center, incl. conf calls.
*
bugs i wish to see fixed:
* suspend/hibernate crashes the application
* can’t create a new contact without a name. e.g. with company name only, e.g. on restaurants i visit I don’t know the name of the waiters…
* while adding a contact and adding a picture to the contact, opening the file browser takes about 5 sec. which is definitivly to long
* while creatig a new message, the “find name” search text box is not able to find the names
* on message view, contact names disappears sometimes. after a refresh they are retrieved again
more to come…
thanks,
cheers…

Hi There,
I’m excited about this app, but am hesitant to install a beta. One question: Is it able to communicate, add/remove contacts, etc, with both the SIM card memory and the phone memory?
thanks,
allie

Great beta app, can you please export feature for sms/mms messages or a batch forward(email) option. Thanks
Comment by Jag — May 23, 2008 @ 7:44 pm
Nice app, like the speed. Seems to be missing a button when I look at a contact field to just send a SMS - there is one for MMS but to send regular text I have to right click on the name in the list.

for SMS a wrong hour is displayed, using GMT and not local time zone, both in inbox and sent items

contacts load/show just fine, but no messages at all??
Comment by NW — May 29, 2008 @ 7:41 pm
btw, using E61, and no folders show either (i.e. inbox, drafts, etc.). I can create new folders, but cannot sync to the phone. If I try to delete a newly created folder, I get an error message stating that the folder can’t be removed from the phone.

I’m a new user - purchased a Nokia N82 for the Sports Tracker, but this PC Suite and Communication are really very good too. I don’t like the NSeries suite myself, so I’ve removed it and returned to PC Suite - which will be even better when the Text Message editor is linked directly to the Communication Center. So far, I haven’t found any problems at all with it. Thank goodness, no more predictive texting for me!

It seems great to have these great features, but I’m still waiting for basic features as a Mac user. I can assure you that there are many users like me who are disappointed in the lack of Mac compatibility of the Nokia tools. I’m starting to doubt whether my decision to pre-order a Nokia N95 8GB (waited almost two months) instead of an iPhone was a good idea. I hope you prove me wrong and will give me and many other Mac users a justification of spending nearly 800 euros on a phone. If you do, you might give me a reason to keep buying and recommending Nokia smartphones.

I think the PC Phone should be integrated in Communication Center rather than in the web-browser. I mean “Communication Center”, it’s really in the name of the concept already.
It’s a lot easier just to hook up the phone and have all the functionality from one place (Communication Center/PC Suite), and not having to fiddle with the web-browser for the phone part of the functionality.
Comment by MagnusW — June 10, 2008 @ 12:36 pm
Contact Groups is top priority for me. More than half a year has passed since I bought my Nokia 6500 Classic and I still haven’t transfered my contacts from my old phone because of the groups.
Also, exporting and importing contact photos would be a good idea. Photos can be encoded in Base64 or an other open encoding in the same csv file used for contacts.
