Wellness Diary updated: you can now import your activity data from Sports Tracker and Step Counter applications
Thu, 2008-05-22 14:01Nokia Wellness Diary was just updated to 1.18.
Changelog:
- Seamless data import from Sports tracker and Step counter applications
- Minor bug fixes
- Supports also S60 3rd FP2, i.e. works in Nokia 6210 Navigator and 6220 Classic (tested), and should work in Nokia N78, N96 and 5320 XpressMusic (not tested)
Note: as some of you noted in the previous Wellness Diary comments thread, there was something funny with the version 1.17, that was auto-updated for active Wellness Diary users last week. We apologize for this inconvenience.

version 1.18 Does not work on Nokia E51. It freezes...
Data export don't support unicode in comments. It's a real problem! N82 Cirillic charset, export via BT.
I'm glad that it now stores data to memory card AND imports data from sporttracker.
But I have to change handsets quite frequently... how can I copy the data files from one device to another?
Here's a link to a site which has a guide to take your data out:
http://research.nokia.com/research/projects/WellnessDiary/index.html
I was wondering that is there a way to import my previous data without erasing my present data? (I mean, I have a lot of entries in my last phone and now I'd like to add them to the phone I use now without overwriting the data stored on the phone in use...)
thanks, the new feature works perfect for me, less data to input means i will be using it more.
the send by mail option don't recognize my mails accounts. Every time that I try to send the data ask to add a new account.
I have just upgraded from an N73 to an N82. I want to install the latest version on the N82 and transfer over a years worth of Wellness Diary data from the N73 to the N82.
Can anybody suggest a way to achieve this or must I start afresh on the N82?! :-|
Any help gratefully appreciated!
Is there a way to display the total calories consumed per day? The eating graph shows the food healthiness only.
I'm using the latest 1.18 version of Wellness Diary and I absolutely love it except for the fact that I can't seem to export the data to a file. I'm using Nokia E61i and I've just entered weight information (along with comments). When I try sending it via e-mail or bluetooth or even MMS, the app just suddenly quits without sending anything.
I read that export doesn't support unicode in comments so I went in and chanced all the special Finnish (Scandic characters) and it still doesn't do anything, it just crashes/quits the app.
I've tried changing the settings from using phone memory to use the memory card but that didn't help at all either.
Any suggestions as to how I'll get my data out? I mean, I wouldn't care but there's some comments I'd love to save and aside from going to each entry by hand and see what I wrote, I'd like to find some other way to save the data to a textfile and since you can't really see the comments in the list view, it's a bit time consuming to go through years of entries.
The calendar in Wellness Diary 1.18 suddenly got very slow after two days use in N95 8GB. It takes almost one minute to open calendar or change months, for example. There are plenty of entries in the primary calendar of my N95 (I guess the slowing down started after I synchronized my Outlook calendar with N95). Does WD Calendar import all of them (slowly) every time it is opened, or what might be the reason?
Also: I often use both Sports Tracker and Step Counter when walking. It seems to me that WD imports steps from both of them, thus showing way too much steps. How, when or where can I delete the extra steps in WD (don
After a recent upgrade of my n95 8gig software I have been unable to get the latest versions of this app to launch at all. I love the program and miss it. suggestions?
thanks

Right. I just realized this. And also that it imports ALL entries in the Sports Tracker - including "driving"! If this wasn't enough (I already have over a hundred entries for driving), the Wellness Diary doesn't have the "standard" Symbian(?)/S60(?) feature (present e.g. in Messages, Photos, etc) to "Select/Unselect" items for batch moving/removing of items. So removing the Driving, etc unwanted entries is a pain in the ass.
Suggestion: Add a feature that allows to select which entry types a user wishes to import. (Luckily Wellness Diary doesn't seem to re-import deleted items!)
Or at least (and possibly in any case) add the "Select/Unselect" feature.
Other than the bug above it's great that you added this feature.
With regards to a nutritional database for use with the Wellness Diary. One already exists based on US public data IIRC. Its already used by a product that is very similar to this - RMRDiet. Its a csv and should be relatively easy to import.

If you do not want to distribute it, then at least create a mechanism for importing this information. That way users can create/share their own nutritional database(s) based on region, diet, personal tastes etc.
RMR Diet also has some interesting features that might be applicable to the Wellness Diary...
By the way, is there a PDF usermanual anywhere?
Hi
Still not working on N82, not the 1.17 or the 1.18 version.
Did even change the memorycard..and formated it..only says memory full. works fine at N95...both memorycards works on N95, but not at all at N82. So while trying to fix the wellness diary, all excisting data lost since the day 1 i started to use, it all disappeared..from N82.
Hard work, statistics, weightlost..all lost
Using 1.14, that is the one that works on N82.
I recently updated the firmware of my N95 8GB to v30.0.018 and after that I began having a problem when starting the Wellness Diary with Step Counter installed. Wellness Diary would hang at the loading screen and is stuck there.
I think the problem is that it's trying to import the entries in the Step Counter but failing for some reason. The only way I found of keeping both together is to rename the directory of the step counter before starting the wellness diary and then renaming it back when I'm done.
I tried uninstalling Step Counter and installing it again, but the same results!
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Anyone know a way to extract the wfrdb.sq database file from an nbu backup file? I just upgraded my firmware and forgot to save the database first :(((
Yeah my best suggestion and if im right, that u dont wana keep everythin from ur file backup.
Restore your whole nbu file, extract wfrdb, then re-install ur firmware so youll go back to fresh and now have the file u want :) (it's annoying i know)

Thanks!
Wonderful application, thanks a lot!
I seem to be having panic attacks (at least, that's what my cardiologist and neurologist told me). Basically, my blood pressure and pulse go way up completely out of the blue, sometimes to the point of almost total collapse. Now I realize that there are certain precursors to that, such as lack of sleep, alcohol, stress etc. However, an application like this would greatly clarify the correlation.
I do not have the option of measuring my blood pressure whenever I feel it's way above normal, since the attacks can and do happen pretty much anywhere - a business meeting, public transport, middle of the night - you name it. My point is, the "Blood Pressure" feature is very nice and helpful unless you can't quite measure it. Since Nokia phones do not currently have the option of measuring BP, saving some made up numbers like 180/100 off the top of my head would obviously only partially do the trick and mess up the statistics.
What I'm suggesting is that you add some flexibility, like in the case above one would only need to run the application, enter some notes like "I don't feel very well" and it gets saved into the database along with the timestamp.
Please think about it, it could really come handy in numerous medical as well as fitness cases.
Also, please make your application export data in CSV or XML for further desktop analysis. Please!
Thanks for the app,
Anton
cool application. would be great if it is possible that it sometime could be connected online with the sportstracker website, so that you can send your data online to your account at http://sportstracker.nokia.com...
How can I export the smoking data to my PC
There is no way to export data like waist measurements or alcohol usage etc. Are you going to fix this in the near future?
Regards,Kari
version 1.18 works fine on E51 but asks if want to update to 1.23.
If 1.23 is installed the program will not run. Reinstalling 1.18 cures problem and data is not lost.
I use Wellness Tracker already for several months, also with the latest version, but since last week I cannot open the program anymore, using N95 8GB. It started after changing for a few minutes the SIM card with my private phone.
Any ideas what could be wrong? Also I would be interested to know where all my stored data can be found and perhaps saved so that I'm not loosing stored data from 5 months.
Thanks!
Verena
If I upgrade with E71 from 1.18 to what ever comes next it won't work.
Reinstalling 1.18 fixes this problem as long as I don't upgrade
Nice idea (import IIRC)!!!
but today my WD upgraded from 1.18 to 1.23 at E66 and don't work without reinstall 1.18... where is detail information about 1.23 version?
Same here... Wellness Diary 1.18 notified that a new version is available. But after installing it to E90 it doesn't start.. Had to reinstall 1.18 (luckily all data was not lost).
Wellness Diary is very good application. And that it works together with SportsTracker is fantastic :) Wellness Diary has export features, but those are quite much limited. Exporting to email is good, but I am not able to get my exercise type or pulse or intensity information exported. It would be very good if you can improve export functionality.
What are the new features/improvements in the version 1.23? I do not want to install it before I know it's worth of all the installing, reinstalling and uninstalling...
Hello!
Congratulation Nokia, this is a great application!
I have only one problem. I can
I've a problem with this application, afer upgrade for a new firmware on my N95 i'cant install Wellness Diary on the memory card, only leave me install on the memory phone.
Did you know why it's the problem?
Not working with N96-20.050.
I could be able to install but it returns to the menu after i run it.
