what happened to Australia, New Zealand e.t.c... come on Nokia

Cool but the pricing is hard to understand..on the main page pricing is missing and on the individual pages it says "Try for free" on all apps..what is the price?

looks good for a start, but feels still very much in beta. I would have the following suggestions:

- list the full price of the software. As Martin said, this is imperative for people to know. This try for free everywhere is nice, but also very confusing
- more categories/sub-categories to look through the applications
- a comment/review function... this often helps me much more on a purchasing decision (e.g. on iTunes or amazon) than the description. For the beginning, at least a rating function would be good
- finally an easy method for developers to add their applications (after they are tested) to the store

And then I have a question: Why is the operator important? If I download the programmes on the internet and then transfer them on my phone, what has the operator to do with that?

I'm concerned that the U.S. isn't even listed. Isn't Nokia trying to do better in this market? How is that going to happen by leaving us out of important initiatives such as this? There's also no U.S. page on the N-Gage site. Not exactly encouraging, there.

So it's essentially a second Nokia Software Market now? Download! is one of the areas S60 has to work on, Nokia got it right on the Maemo Platform (repositories), we need a decent solution on S60 too!

There is only a limited set of devices, mine is not listed.

Oops. Not working on my Mac. Tried Safari 3.1 and Opera 9.5, the Phone Selection does nothing. The Operator Selection is not unlocking.
Is this still PC-only?

As a Symbian software developer. How do i get our applications listed in this desktop Shop?

I just installed Download! 3.2 to my N95 and now I have 2 icons - one for 3.1 and one for 3.2.

Why was the icon for 3.1 not replaced?

Well, it covers "a wide variety of content, applications and services from a range of different providers", not everything.

I feel your pain - I strongly feel the need to have a central location for discovering and downloading everything...

Please, don´t forget we are many many MAC OSX users out there (taking Nokia before IPhone). We can´t test Maps 3.0 beta (only possible for Windows users).
I realy hope 3.0 will come with the posibility to chang the map wiew to the direction I drive or walk (not only to the north).

Is this finally a central location for downloading S60 applications? It seems even Nokia has had (still does?) several sources for applications: Beta labs, Download!, Catalogs, the S60.com website.

- There doesn't seem to be a way to search for applications, just a list of games and a list of applications.

- As others have commented, there should be pricing information. To me, "try it for free" sounds like a trial version, and personally I won't want to go through the hassle of downloading a weather forecast application just to find out I'll have to pay X euros for it.

- User reviews/ratings are absolutely necessary.

- Support for all S60 phones. For example my E61 is not supported, even though there are countless applications for it floating around the web.

- The store should be made easier to find... I found the store through the Nokia Beta Labs. There is no link to it on the Nokia website, and as noted, my E61 does not have access to it.

- This might exist for newer phones already: A mobile version for supported phones. It should be found in the phone's main menu, not hidden in some sublevels. For phones such as my E61, there should be an update from Nokia, adding the icon to my menu. (this update feature by the way goes for all new applications. It would be nice if Nokia provided updates to my music player and web browser as well)

- It should be possible (and easy) to only search and browse (truly, not trial version) free applications.

- Applications should be easier to browse (subsections, divided by category). There must be thousands of S60 applications in existence, having an endless list is not a user friendly way to present them. Especially if viewed on a 2 inch mobile screen.

- Could Ovi.com not include a section for applications? I thought the point of Ovi was to bring everything a Nokia user needs into one place.

- I'm probably not the only one, but I am confused by how some S60 applications work on some devices but not others. For example some applications will work on newer phones, such as N82, but won't work on my E61. Similarly some will work on Nokias but not on Samsung S60 devices. This is not necessarily related so much to the application store, but more general critique towards the S60 operating system.

- Related to the above point, the "supported devices" list on the download website should be complete. I cannot imagine that the Foreca weather application will work on the E51, E61i, and E65 but not on the E61.
