Greeting from the Nokia Email service team,
Thanks for helping us test Nokia Email service. We’ve received many a lot of fantastic feedback from you through email.nokia.com and through the Nokia Email client’s feedback system, and we’re working on implementing it in future releases of Nokia Email Service. Before sending in your feedback please consult this list of the most common feedback questions, with answers about bugs we know of and things we’re working on. If your question is on this list, there is no need to submit that feedback, but we welcome any other feedback you may have. Thanks for helping us test Nokia Email service!
On behalf of Nokia Email service team,
- Davis Fields
Frequently Requested Enhancements:
Multiple Mailboxes: This beta version supports only one mailbox but future beta releases will include support for multiple mailboxes.
IMAP Folders: This beta version of Nokia Email service does not support IMAP folders but we are working on this feature for future releases.
HTML Mail: The beta version of Nokia Email service does not render HTML mail but we are working on this feature for future releases.
Mailbox Management Issues:
Sent Folder: It is a known issue that messages do not appear in the Sent folder on Nokia Email. They are being sent and will appear in your Email provider’s sent folder, and we are working to fix this bug in future releases.
Message Read / Email Deletions: This beta version of Nokia Email service does not support message read status updates or POP mail deletions on your server but we are working on this feature for future releases.
International Character Support: This beta version of Nokia Email service is only localized into English and does not support international characters. Future version of Nokia Email service will be localized and support these characters.
Phones:
Connection Error: The software installs but never connects to the server – Nokia Email service checks all available access points and if doesn’t find one that supports secure Email, this error occurs.
SMS Errors: If you can’t receive the SMS after repeated attempts, try using a friend’s number and forwarding the text to your device. We have seen SMS problems with some operators, let us know who your carrier is through the feedback form.
Errors on unsupported devices: The current list of devices supported is on email.nokia.com, please do not install on devices not on this list. Future releases will include support for more Nokia devices.
i tried it with gmail id. but its not working.
Hello nice beta labs team.
my email application installed and worked properly but after formatting the device and reinstall it didnt connect to the net.
i already go and select reinstall on email.nokia.com and then i read here that the operator provider may be not supported!!!
if the service is regional then am sure am not supported because i live in Iraq (No My Nokia,No Maps on Map uploader,No Files on Ovi and No Music store off coarse)...
my network provider is Asia Cell.
Really ? Could you tell me where exactly ? Because I've combed over the settings page and didnt find any such option so far. Thanks !
great! we are waiting for new release... I like new application but I need HTML support.
Good work
I would also like it to stop auto-starting when I power on my device.
Also, I'm using Nokia Email on an N82 which isnt on the list even though the N95 variants are, and it works fine on it. Any idea why the N82 isnt on the list ? Was it just missed or is it genuinely not supported ?
Got a problem
"unsupported eror code[error code: 65535]Error occured in EaPlugin while processing respnce from server"
is written in log file
HW reset and resend didn`t fix it.
Got a E71. Eomeone have had the same Problem?
Its a useful application, but its always connecting to internet via 3G. Can I setup to connect only if Push notify arriving?
Some additional comments to the one I made above:
On point 2) above, I was able to get message previews on my E71 Home Screen by enabling the Intellisync app (why?) on my home screen. The messages show up with a Mail icon when I am using one of the default themes, but as Calendar icons when I use the Absolute Black Theme (which looks great on the Grey Steel E71). I am seeing three message headers, whether they are read or not. I think it would be better to see headers only for messages that are unread.
It would help if it were possible to assign a shortcut to the Inbox as well as to the application itself.
Since Nokia Email does not show up in the list of system email options, it is not possible to assign an email notification to it, nor is it possible to Send from other applications using Nokia Email because it is not recognised as a system email.
It would be great to be able to assign Email Notification 1 and Email Notification 2 to different IMAP sub-folders when these are supported.
When I tried to add a telephone number in a message to my contacts, it would only open a new contact, not allow me to add it as detail to an existing contact.
I also echo the comments from other users. Great to know that you are taking user feedback into account.
I don knw why but now everytime a Wifi Connection is available, my cell keeps on requesting a connection to it.
Any ideas why?
Plus, this application eats a lot of battery...!
please help on these issues.
My software was working fine until I switched my Nokia E71 off and turned on again. Now I have this error
“unsupported eror code[error code: 65535]Error occured in EaPlugin while processing response from server” in log file
and cannot send or receive any emails.
Did anyone else have this problem? I have reinstalled it twice but the same error shows up.
Otherwise it is a very good effort by Nokia and I am looking forward to the upgrades in the new release.
Are you going to make a message shortcut for new messages on nseries devices?
HEY, its good to here a feedback from you guys for a change hehe. Good to let us know you guys are aware of our feedbacks.
I got one for ya, if its keen on nokia's top list for visuals on the email service, when will you guys get an active stand-by display of an email as what has been done for the N73 while i hoped for this on the N95. Or somethin else should be done to notify and show email related info. maybe like what is used for sms, missed call and the native email client. Im just givin work arounds pose to not having an active stand-by.
Thx for everythin.
I think Nokia Email is an exciting application and I am looking forward to the next release.
Some comments:
1) While multiple mailboxes would be great, also important would be multiple Sent From identities/aliases for those of us using a single IMAP mailbox with multiple email addresses each delivering to a different IMAP sub-folder. This is not the same as multiple mailboxes because the logon credentials are the same for all identities/aliases. So what would be great is a list of Sent From Addresses to select from when composing new messages, replying, replying to all, and forwarding, with the default for reply and forwarding being the same address the original message was sent to.
2) Last time I used Nokia Email it was on an E51 and I was able to have a preview of my unread messages on my Home Screen and if I selected this I was able to open my Inbox. This does not show up on my E71 Home Screen. Is there any way to put it there?
3) I have just started using Nokia Email again on my E71, and was able to send messages today but they did not appear in my email provider's Sent folder in spite of what is written above under Mailbox Management Issues. While this is being fixed it would be good if there was an auto bcc: option for all messages in the meantime so that I could set up a rule to deliver messages to this auto bcc: address to my Sent folder. Alternatively, if I could specify my IMAP email provider's smtp server they automatically put a copy in my Sent folder.
4) International Character Support will be welcome. I have a European phone but I sometimes receive messages in Japanese which I read with Psiloc Japanese Reader. I just want to confirm that International Character support will mean that I can access the system font to read these messages.
5) From what I can tell predictive text input is not available when writing messages. Is this the case? If so, will this be a feature going forward?
6) It would be useful to be able to specify a default access point and an alternative access point, eg to specify a WLAN access point for use indoors, and a GPRS/HSDPA access point for use when out.
Thanks to everyone involved with this project for work that you have done so far.
All the best,
William
HI,
I recently bought a Nokia 6500- after three days i got some problems in my set which were as follows.
------------------------------ ---
1. Display of set got some problem
2. Phone was unable to read the memory card
3. Speaker phone was buzzing.
4. Body of phone was lose, when we press the buttons it makes sound.
Hi Nokians,
I'm missing a visual indicator for new messages at least in form of the plain old letter symbol. Even better would be a small plugin on the home screen showing the header info of the latest email(s).
Also there should be some an indication for the push-connection being active. I've observed the application to be running with activated push mail on my N95, but there was no 3G session established and no messages arrived.
A data counter for the volume generated by Nokia email would be nice. If we could set daily limits for usage while roaming it would be great.
Finally, if you enable the option, which disables syncing at a low battery level, and the application has actually diabled syncing, it won't be reactivated automatically during or after recharging the battery.
regards,
Christian
been trying to get my e71 for nokia email...i get the following msg whie i try to setup
UNABLE TO SETUP THIS MAILBOX
WE CANNOT SET UP MOBILE EMAIL FOR AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS EMAIL SERVICE PROVIDER AT THIS TIME.. WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY ANOTHER ADDRESS...
i tried other address including gmail but same error... i am on the AIRTEL network in india...can someone help ?
thanks.. mahesh
Hey Cj,
You can already turn off the auto-start to off, from the settings.
Best Regards,
Pankaj
The ability to display Mail for Exchange e-mails would be great.
1. For some reason Nokia email reactivates “active standby” everytime I startup my n95.
This error makes me unable to use the software. I just cannot stand the issue of deactivating active Standby on my phone each time it starts.
And also, I did not find an option to turn off the auto start-up.
Otherwise, it works fine. I personally suggest to take a look at the Lonelycatgames - Profimail software, this software has great features that i'd love to have on Nokia Email too.
I have the exact same issue than Andreas and Ali. It was working until 6th of September but after that it hasn't worked anymore. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, but no luck.
I'm using with gmail account, so that could be the issue. Has something changed either at Nokia's side or at Google's side? Please look into this issue.
i upgrade my N78 with new maps & software by loader now the new map software is good looking but have very big problem with navigation each time it goes online for getting the route with out online it can not create a route why is it so. please iam a waiting for you urgent reply. old software was good it wasn't going online for getting routes. new one say "no route found get online for seach"
urgent reply
Abhilash, did you remember to enable your POP account from the Gmail website's settings section?
Hello Nokia,
I was one of your first users for the email service. I use it with a GMail address.
Some days ago you have sent me a questionannaire, asking me why I stopped to use the service. But that was wrong. I use the service several times a day.
But since yesterday I cannot access my GMail messages anymore. I synchronize, but they don't show up on my Nokia E61i. What went wrong? Are you having problems with GMail?
Please reinstall the service!
Best regards,
Markus Göbel
First the positive:
Love the new look, additional options with smaller buttons and much smaller text would be a bonus (see Opera mini small font options).
What a pity we cannot access IMAP folders!
This is the only way I have of avoiding the download of millions of emails I autofilter with IMAP folders.
Even with this caveat I soldiered on an tried to make good use of this service just to be confronted with TWO infuriating bugs:
1. For some reason Nokia email reactivates "active standby" everytime I startup my n95.
2. Even though I couldn't read my IMAP folders via Nokia email I could via the email app that comes installed with v30 of the n95 firmware; however, Nokia email disabled email sending via any other app (including the aforementioned app). So we're forced to read email via the built in app, and write/compose email via the Nokia email!
As you can imagine, this arrangement is extremely cumbersome and actually more trouble than it's worth [After all I actually DO need to use email for more than bug testing!]
So unfortunately I had to REMOVE Nokia Email just to get functionality back in my life.
I will start to test it again once IMAP folders are working
Keep it up, and please post changelogs and version numbers on the betalabs site :)
Greetz 2 all!
btw. what's up with the n96 not supporting voip?
How do you stop the auto start? I cant seem to find the optionm?
Many thanks!
Marc
I'm getting this error as well:
“unsupported error code[error code: 65535]Error occurred in EaPlugin while processing response from server” in log file
Anyone know a work around? Love the program but it hasn't been syncing successfully for several days now.
Thanks!
I'm also using Gmail.
how to upgrade nokia email, i really need it to push my mails
hi administrator plz if u can help me i have nokia 5320 xpressmusic i have a problem when i try to fix the date and the clock it's appear message "system error" how can i solve it ????
Hi Guys,
Got a problem with a Nokia 6500 slide. There is a text message on it that doesn't have any reference on it or anything in it, but when I try to delete it I get the message 'Unsupported message type. Delete?'. When I select 'Yes', it just says 'error occurred. deletion not completed' and won't delete the message. Annoying as it prevents me deleting all the messages in the folder at once, so they have to be marked individually before deleting.
Hope someone can help as it's driving me mad.
Cheers
Sigh
Now after nokia email 60 days trial is over , what sould i do? , no more emails being pushed nor a confirmation message telling whether you would like to pay & continue for the service , i have used nokia email for 60 days already . To nokia support pls tell me what to do now . How to continue subscriptions & how much is the cost ? Thanks
I use nokia email with my E71 and gmail. sync goes well and fast, but I have two major problems:
1) nokia app always displays 3 read messages' headers on the main screen. What a waste of space. I'd rather have my appointments there. Whereas native E71 client or SEVEN app only display UNREAD messages on the main screen!
can this be set up in options or that is an terrible inconvenience to live with??
2) strange issue with russian language. I can't read incoming mail in russian language - only unreadable squares. But if I send a message in russian and then get a reply to it - all is OK.
is there any possibility to setup auto BCC in Nokia Mobile email. What Ineed is that any email I sent from my mobile is automatically BCC to the email address I specify..
Thank you!
I am at a loss without my mail now,I bought a n96 and guess what ? they have took it off the mail list of compatibles.come on nokia - helppppppp
i also get 65535 -error and log tells about error in eaPlugin. It worked a while and then sync stopped working. reinstall doenst help. Im using imap mail.
Any fix on this?
-esa
Im having the same 65535 error. Nokia Email is not syncing anymore.
Nicolas
My emails have stopped syncing on my E71 since Dec 30, 2008. It still fails to sync even after I upgraded.
Does anyone ever respond to these queries ? I have not seen one useful answer in 38 posts! I am an admin using intellisync; my log file shows an error 65535 ea plugin error, can anyone tell me what that's about?
Hi all;
I installed version 5.0 Build 9.5.0.41 on my E90 few days ago
See a small feedback I can provide - Thank you for this !
I'm a happy user of Profimail so could not help comparing both solutions
Pro
- wizard worked straight with no issue
- keeps a "daemon" in background to check mails
- periodocal retreival (to save power)
- UI is beautifull and the "long press" on items is a nice feature
- shortcuts to speed usage (Profimail seems to provide much more shortcuts still)
- HTML rendering is near perfection (much better than Profimail)
Cons
- unability to manually choose connection during initial setup
- slow to start "messages list" (instantaneous with Profimail)
- slow to open a mail (instantaneous with Profimail)
- eats a lot of RAM (up to 20Mo on some big text mails - noticed on "linux logwatch utility output")
- does not cache HTML pages (Profimail does) - Once an HTML mail was competely downloaded/shown, next time it shows instantaneously on Profimail. It's Re-downloaded on NokiaMail
- unable to setup lower than 1h value for periodic checks (I use 15Min with Profimail)
- seems unable to show/subscribe to other IMAP folders (Profimail does)
Option available via web login but limited to 10 folders and only shows 5 folders on
The phone still
- not integrated in "standard messaging" on the phone (still, able to use "send to" menu option and choose "Email" which opens the compose form
- closed when "remove card" selected (Profimail stays up)
- no progress bar during attachements download
- on the E90, when using interal screen (800x352), difficult to distinguish unread(bold)/read(regular) mails (fine when using external 240x320 screen) (Visually ok / Profimail on both external/internal screen)
So the moment, I'll stick to Profimail (even I had to buy it, while Nokia messenging is - as for now - free, I still think Profimail is worth buying it
P.S. I'm french; sorry if I mispelled/misswrote some english words; still trying to improve
