Enhanced calculator doesn't work with E61i keyboards (querty). The scroll button highlights the calculator keys but you cannot select desired calculator key. The key in center of Navi key doesn't work (Don't selects any calculator's keys). there's a solution ?

re percent function:

the percent function on calculators is always a bit daft. in essence all it does is divide by 100 so in your example you want:

20 * 115% = 23

> is this still being developed

Well, not too actively. As said in the beginning, this has been a part-time innovation project by Jarmo. By now, I believe the beta trial has largely served its purpose. We have learned what is feasible to learn at Beta Labs, and we might pull this to archive in the near future.

Potential "graduation" in this case takes a bit longer. Updating any of the core apps from the S60 platform is, for several reasons, a largish undertaking that needs to be planned properly, especially as just porting the S40/Java app as such was concluded not to be an optimal solution.

Hope we didn't set wrong expectations in the beginning :)

Tried it on my E90. Did not work on the big screen, as expected, works fine on the small outside screen. It great so far, but I would like to ask for support of the big screen too.

Kind regards

Andreas

Noticed a bug on Nokia E71: 3 is the only number that requires pressing the Function key. All the other numbers can be entered directly.

The percent function does not work as expected.
Example 20 + 15% = 23. But with this calculator you obtain 20.15
I hope you can fix this with a new update.

suggestion:

it would be trivially easy and very useful to add a total amount paid to the load calculator.

i know you're more interested in a successful port than new functionality, but this is so easy i think it's worth the effort.

Agree with others about % calculations not working correctly nor as a normal calculator would operate.

Once out of beta, can it be written so this overwrites the existing very poor pre-installed calculator on the N95 8GB?

(also visually the white background is pretty poor. It would be better if this could take on the current background in use or a plain black)

On E71 application window is not positioned in the middle of the screen - this is just a minor thing. Bigger problem is that on that same model number 3 does not work directly, in order to get 3 you need to push Function+3, kind of annoing.

Otherwise, it's exactly what the standard calculator should be.

it's great to see the update and that you are working on this project, it's certainly needed. but i stand by my previous comments. making it work on samsung phones has to be less of a priority than the nokia phones surely.

i’m still not happy with the ‘EXIT’ routine - the confirmation is only needed because ‘exit’ is on the top right soft key. if it was just from the menu then this wouldn’t be required. it is the only app i have EVER seen where once you've selected 'never ask' you can't get it back.

an ‘about’ feature with version numbers would be useful whilst in beta.

in scientific made it would be useful if ‘equals’ could be selected by a long press of the select button.

it still doesn’t render properly in landscape mode on my n95-2 with Auto Screen Rotation

That's what i kind of figured.

But i also hope you also take from this that there was a positive response to the idea and that the S60 calculator is something of an embarrassment to the operating system. nigel

Definitely a step in the right direction. Wish you could transform it quickly into the native sis format, and give it a better looking and bigger icon for the standby screen. After all, looks do matter!

Hi,
Downloaded Enhanced Calculator to my new N96 (sw ver. 10.065. date 22-08-08). Everytime I open the calculator it crashes straight-away with following details:

Arithmetic
java.lang.ArithmeticException
/ by zero

Just to let you know.

Cheers,
Teppo

Hello,

downloaded the calculator an i like it.
But there is a QWERTY resp. QWERTZ problem.
On my german "keyboard" the 3 is on the Y button and far away from 1,2 and 4,5,6.
Can you fix that problem?

Thanks a lot!
