Quick note from Nokia PC Suite team:
We at Nokia PC Suite team are further developing the Nokia Communication Centre application, and it now contains lots of improvements that you suggested during the previous beta testing period. We hope that you enjoy using the application, and take a look how easy it is to manage your device calendar from your PC. Please try it, share your thoughts, and report all your findings about the application. We will listen to your feedback again, and make the improvements in future versions. Please note that this is the first version, and might be unstable still.
In the calendar section I try to add a new event (Birthday) and of course I have to fill all the fields regarding it. I set the year of birth (eg. 1978), I leave other fields unchanged and finally I set up an alarm for it. I select the corresponding day in the current year and of course a time later than the one I'm setting the alarm. Clicking on the OK button I get an error message: "Alarm is set for later than the entry starts". Everything is OK if I set "Year of Birth" to 2008...but it looks as non-sense matter...Am I wrong? Thanks for your attention.
This should not be beta, this should be part of the next PC Suite and you can release it today ;-) Nice work. Communication Center was good, it just got better.
there are thousands of nokia customers all over the world asking for multiple calendars and gCal symc ation/wishlist/feature/display WishDetails....
there are even a hundread of task in s60.com whishlist

One of colleague of mine had his N79 paired with his laptop and uses your communication software. His N79 can be used to cook eggs afterwards. Are you aware of the power usage? Is your software polling his N79 too often or Is that just a general feature of bluetooth protocol?
Hey Guys,
thanks for another great application!
It came just the right moment, because my outlook2007 trial on my home pc has expired.
I also love the fact, that the the pcsuit is still in development. I not only used it at home, but at work too. And while it is no problem to install the pcsuit there, i would get into trouble, if would use the more media base ovi-suit or the nseries one.
I like the editing function for Calender and Contacts.
It's nice to drag a picture into the picturebox. Also nice is the easy group creation. Is there a posibility to show the groups in the "All Contacts" view? It would make it easier to filter contacts without a group.
In my opinnion, the birthday should be a fild in the "Simple" view with an sort/group option.
After i browsed trough my calender entrys, i realised, that some of my birthdays where stored and synced as meeting or as memo. A way to change the calender entry type would be great.
While i would like the feature to color Calender entrys to easily see which one is privat work and so on,
i really miss the posibility to edit notes on the pc.
It actually was the reason i installed the outlook trial, so i could sync notes and use my keybord to write them.
Nice would be an feature to sync with ovi, while the mobile is connected to the pc.
It seams, that the connection layer error, running multiple Nokia PC applications, i had reported to the nokia photo team, also occured with photos and one time with the pc suit..
Apart from this known problem, the programm runs stable with my vista and xp pc and my n95.
Eismaus
The programm fail on the calendar, put the bithday on the day before at the 22.00 (24.00 minus my local time)....
I just installed communication center 2.0 but when I run it, it still says ver 1.0 in the about box. I tried uninstalling and installing (including rebooting) several times.
I suspect that the version number is incorrect, since I'm able to view the contact groups on my phone.
One BIG PROBLEM: no Arabic Support!!!
Please try to fix that as soon as possible.
I have a problem!!!!
Since I tried this program, the calendar in stand-by mode is disappeared!
And now?
I have a N95 8GB, please help me, is essential for me the calendar in stand-by mode!
Any plans to launch Communication Center on the Mac platform?
I'm using my N82 & NCC with bluetooth connection. I found out that call functionality can't be executed and a window will appeared stating that ' starting a call failed'. But, there is no problem with sending & receiving sms. Pls help!
Is there a list of all the bug fixes in 2.0 somewhere?
Also: Has the dumbest UI mistake I've seen in a really long time been fixed (no way to reply to an SMS if you open it by double clicking it in the main window)?
Thanks!
I am able to call with USB but not with the Bluetooth, please suggest if i need to do anything else.
i have Nokia E51 and PC suite version is 7.1(window vista)
That was fairly quick considering Comm. Center 1 graduated not long back.
Here are my suggestions :
1. I have some companies in my contacts. For these contacts, i have not entered any first name or last name, only the Company name in the Company field. In the thumbnail mode, these contacts do not have any title, only the Ph. No and the Email id are shown.
For such contacts, where first and last name are not available, please display the company name in the thumbnail mode as the title.
2. The UI looks bloated and cartoonish. I know this is the UI constant amongst all Nokia Apps, but it requires a change. Why not switch to WPF enabled apps which look sleeker and better?
Any hope of a Linux version????
well had to ask :D
Looks good. bit busy looking but good for a first version..
AWESOME!! CONTACT GROUPS ARE FULLY SUPPORTED!! You SOOOO just made my day complete!
This looks good while the Phone is connected and works like a charm with my e51. However, I don't understand why
- this is integrated into PC Suite instead of the ovi suite, which is supposed to be the future solution
- it does not sync with my ovi account
- the data is not stored on my computer, so I can neither access it while the phone is disconnected nor sync several phones to the same database
So, in the first go I did not find any bugs, but much room for improvement. But it's great that it installed something on my e51 to support groups :)
I'm sure the beta 1 version of this had a pop up balloon by the clock when a message arrived? whats happened to it? otherwise its a fantastic addition to the PC suite. oh, one other thing. being able to set it to launch at startup minimised would be great
v2 opened when the pc restarted but it failed to refresh. i closed v2 but on opening v2 i got v1 back again? and i still cannot refresh?
I love my Nokia N81 8GB and I love my PowerBook ¿Some day this and the others greats apps for Mac?
I hope so.
Its really great. Groups and calendar support which I have been waiting for. how about Birthday entries to calender from contacts.....
Thanks for group support! What about to put group membership in CSV / VCF files so we can export / import contacts this way and without losing group membership information?
What about adding a print function to print all contacts or single contacts as vcard on paper.what i mean is not a export like in csv or txt.i mean a overview with all details of a contact printing on a blank paper.might be good...
The UI looks bloated and cartoonish. I know this is the UI constant amongst all Nokia Apps, but it requires a change. Why not switch to WPF enabled apps which look sleeker and better?
3 Words: Google Calendar Sync!!!
I found some bug about thai language.
It's display text (thai) incorrect.
hi,
happy to be able to edit calendar. Just moved from 6230i to E66. Birthday calendar entries "changed" to meetings when syncing done. Wanted to add birthday in Beta version but it doesn't work as wished. I am not able to set recurrence so the entry is set just on a day of birth (for example 1.1.1980). Is it possible to fix this? Anniversary in phone doesn't allow to set recurrence as well :-(
Hope for the changes. Good luck
Been thinking about it, and what comes to mind is, does it really have to be a 19MB setup file??
Does this include the drivers too?
Hi
I'd like to suggest a new features for the contact manager.
When adding or modifying a pic, it would be nice to cut and resize the pic I choose, so I doesn't need to edit my pic before, then import it, but I would do it directly with this only software.
It crashes a lot under Vista x64.
But not only...
while moving a large group of SMSs to a folder in the archive, it moved just 1 of them and totally lost all the others :\
Result? I lost over 200 sms
I have v1 (though I am not sure, reading some of the comments above about the version being wrong). Similar problem to msg 17 - I moved a bunch of messages into "Archive" and it crashed (the usual "send report to Microsoft" dialogue). I'm not sure whether I lost any but it wasn't impressive that it happened.
btw I'm on XP SP2 and using a 6230 (yes really!) over Bluetooth.
I think until the stability improves I'll just be using it for handy bulk deletion - it's great for that :)
I try it, it's ok, but I wont that nokia pc synch synchronized contact group into outlook...
I divide my nokia contact list in group, but now I can't synch it with outlook... and I can't send email group in outlook...as in my nokia... i must re-group all my outlook's contact to do that...but needed a lot of time that I've not....
I hope that in the next nokia pc suite you'll add this feature...
also... you could create a synch program to gmail account that synch contact, group, calendar,ecc....
bye
Does not work with Nokia Nseries PC SUite :(
Hey Guys,
every thing works fine, but some numbers are displayed like that: +49(160)123456 and some +49160123456.When i would like to edit a contact and change the number from "+49160123456 to +49(160)123456 it doesnt work. You can't add the "()" in the Contact. But the existing numbers are display with "()".But they have been edited with another programm. Can u add a function to set a standard format how the numbers are saved. For example with +49 or without.Or with "()" or without. And also a checkbox where you can select if the birthday also would be added to the calender or not. This would be awesome. Also would be nice to have the option to choose when u open a contact that it open in simple mode or advanced mode.
I 'v N95
every thing works fine except making a call over bluetooth "Starting a call failed"
Version info is telling 1.0 althou have installed 2.0.
In older version I was instantly notified about received sms and even got that notification bubble, now it seems that I need to press that refresh button to get messages to communication center. Or is it somehow related to used mobile? I'm now using E66 and back when it was working I was using E90.
Pictures in MMS shown bit oddly, by default picture is very small and only way to increase it is to increase window size. Would it be too difficult to by default open picture in it's real size?
Hello, „ปทำไ ม
I have a problem with exporting SMS.
if I try to export to EXCEL my Thai language SMS. Then I will get something like this:
ดสรà¸à¹
How can I get a correct result, any solutions?
thx
Michael
CC should automaticly update when I recieve new messages. It should also keep a local copy of all downloaded messages instead of downloading everything everytime I connect. Why doesn't alterts work for Nokia E6t5?
Ok call function definitely does not work. I am also missing some advanced function for phone call such as sound options (voice source....sound card, microphone ...)
in the latest version of pc suite 7.1 or something. via blutooth im no longer getting incoming call alters, and I cant use the new "call" feature. it says "starting a call failed". have also updated nokia update centre thing and e71 firmware.
really want the call feature working + the alerts back.
when will this happen? over all though pc suite is a great piece of kit
