Nokia Photos 1.5 graduates
Fri, 2008-11-14 15:39Guest writer: Julio Castillo, Senior Product Manager, Nokia Photos team
Thanks to all of you who helped us test Nokia Photos 1.5 beta. Because of your direct feedback, the Nokia Photos team was able to identify and fix several issues related to the new map view and general application stability. Additionaly, you helped identify a number of usability and performance issues that will be addressed in future versions.
You can now download the official release of Nokia Photos 1.5
- as a standalone application from http://nokia.com/photos
- as part of the Nokia Ovi Suite 1.1 from http://europe.nokia.com/A41159

Once again, thanks for all your feedback and suggestions. The Nokia Photos team has now plenty of ideas for where to take this application in the future.

Nice. I'm downloading again :)
Review und Comment after the weekend.
I played with the new photos for around 10 minutes.
There are a few things, that jumped to my eyes right after the installation.
- The color for send sms is changed in the timebar. Thats cool. Now you see the diffrent between send, recived sms and notices.
- No lost settings durring the update. (Blog/Ovi..)
- No problem during the first sync, without closed PC Suit.
- Over all the software seems to be a littlebit resposiver. Especally while scrolling through the timebar.
Thanks to the team for this great work!!
And please, don't let us wait to long for the next version with more of our integreated sugestions.

W00t ! I love Nokia Photos. Good to see it graduate !
Damn..
No changes whatsoever to the lifeblog part of the application. You guys should really prioritize this part of the program a bit more.
After all, this is what is unique about the application. Other photo applications like Picasa is generally a bit better (no pun intended) and GeoTagging is not that big an issue / killer feature
Geo Tagging
I see it this way, I am a normal guy working 330 days in Copenhagen going on the usual 2 vacations per year. so if I tagged my photos on the map it would be one big clutter of thumbnails in Copenhagen, and then a group for the Turkey and Switcherland skiing vacation.
And really - if I go to a party at a friend in Copenhagen 5 km away, I fail to see the idea that I should geo tag that group of pictures.
GeoTagging in my mind is just a buzzword at present.
My point beeing, why don
?????????cmnet????????????
Nokia Photos should save tags to image files. Currently there's no use of them because no other application/service can use them.
Hope you've managed to speed up adding a name/description/tag to photos - really slow on my N96 (especially renaming, presumably because it has to rename the physical file too).

I just read this review "Getting everything into the N85 - Lifeblog the main issue?" about the N85 on allaboutsymbian.com.

The missing lifeblog application is defintly a point to not move on from my N95, as it is my main blogging tool!
It seams I'm not the only person with this problem.
I hope you could communicate this problem with the people who are resposible for the phone part of the application.

I would be nice to have some kind of dialog with the guys of Nokia Photos (Julio Castillo) about this application, after all this is a bit what a blog is all about.
Cheers,
Lars
The NokiaPhotos just after having started reset my computer. What can be happening?
