Final beta release of Mobile Web Server, with Group Calendar widget

Here's another small Christmas treat for you, with love from Mobile Web Server team:

Download Group Calendar widget.

It's still pretty rough, but as S60 Widget (= web runtime) development is very fast and easy, it can be tweaked quickly based on your feedback.

Read more, straight from the horse's mouth, what Jukka Eklund has to say about the latest Mobile Web Server release, Group Calendar widget, enhanced Facebook application, and future plans of Mobile Web Server.

Antoine, don't give up yet :)

Even though Ovi integration and other things couldn't fit on this beta's scope (keep in the whole project has started way before Ovi even existed), it doesn't mean it's not going to happen. We just need to wait and see, and there individual contributions just like yours might make a difference like I said on the "press release".

charliebrown, there is a problem in Nokia server right now (missing the MIME type for .wgz files), so that's what happens in some (namely IE) browsers. This is being fixed, thanks for reporting it!

It would have been nice to see a bit more polish on the MWS (plus those nice things like Ovi integration) before the beta was totally retired. But, I guess that's what happens when some software has run its course.

There's a lot of potential with the MWS still; on my end, I guess it would have to be an individual effort to making some things happen. Its still ahead of where many want to think about mobile.

The widget file you have uploaded is .zip, so you have to rename it into .wgz in order to install it on your phones!

Every time I install the web server it adds its own string to the startup list (regardless of the auto-startup option). If you reinstall it keeps adding that entry over again. Do it too many times and you'll soon run out of resources. To get rid of that to the best of my knowledge you have to reset the firmware, unless you have access to system files

Mobile Web Server is good solution for me. Groop Calenar - cool. Thx for your job.
