We typically select the "hottest" Beta Labs application of the month, and ask its R&D team to select the user who has given them the most valuable feedback. Sometimes we give the award for other extraordinary contributions.

Anyway, about how to contribute... Every Beta Labs application has a discussion forum area dedicated to it. Just try the applications, and write reviews, bug reports, improvement suggestions, and/or thoughtful conversations. We'll listen - and select you in due time if your contributions are spectacularly helpful :-)
