Nokia Image Exchange is an experimental imaging service to make browsing and sharing images fun and easy. It aims to provide a seamless integration of a mobile image gallery application and a corresponding web-service. If you haven't tried it out yet, you can download it freely from http://imageexchange.nokia.com.

We now have an update for our mobile software. This new release is mostly a maintenance update that tries to address issues that have been noted with the earlier release. Still, we do have some notable improvements for you.

Key highlights:

More importantly this release includes bug fixes on multiple areas, including sharing. We've especially targeted issues regarding invalid image counters, duplicates in People menu and issues that have caused the registration to fail.

Stay tuned, we are already working on for the next releases.

On behalf of Nokia Image Exchange team,

Janne Kaasalainen

Can we disable uploading all the images by default? Unless you can do that, i am not installing it.

Unable to install on N95-2, and N82. Do you have to remove the previous version prior to installing this update?

Hard reset done with my N82, and now restarting from scratch.

N95-2 still unable to install update, and now not even prompting me in the application that there is indeed a newer version available since it reset my N95

Micky ... On my N95 8GB everything went OK. I've updated the application without uninstalling previous version. It works nice.

Thanks, I did manage to download the app within Image Exchange on my N95-2, but upon installation, my handset rebooted, and now I can't install the new version.

On my N82, I tried to uninstall the previous version, which failed, and now i cannot open the application, or install the newer version of Image Exchange. Im at a loss here, and its looking likely I will have to reset my N82, which is a pain.

Downloaded from the website and installed over the previous version on my E71 without any problems. I don't sync my images, don't see the point. Would prefer if this had post to web & email sending?

Hi

@Micky

Some uses have experienced problems on the upgrade, for some suggestion please check this forum thread
http://betalabs.nokia.com/forum/topic/1517

@Bycek
That is a good suggestion for people that do not want to use the online functionality. You can also just go offline and the application shouldn't try to connect at all

Dear Nokia Image Exchange user,

Due to sudden increase in our user numbers our uploads capacity is temporarily overused. We are already working on the problem and expect it to be corrected shortly.

Thank you for your patience,

Nokia Image Exchange team

Liking the improvements to Nokia Image Exchange. This program has replaced the standard gallery on my phone for viewing pictures ( the built in one is so slow) Heres a suggestion for the next release. Instead of uploading the files to the image exchange website how about linking it to your Ovi account? This way I could share my pictures quickly as the file upload is already done and I would just be chossing to make it public via my share on Ovi account. Simple innit? Then get rid of that nasty gallery app on my phone and replace it with Image exchange. Picture viewer and sharing all in one place. Photo Viewer looks good but in practice is so slow i've already uninstalled it! With cameras and phones producing bigger and better pictures all the time and file sizes increasing 10 fold a simple and quick solution is needed. Long live Image Exchange and goodbye Photo Viewer and Gallery!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!
