Share Online updated to 4.3 - share directly with contacts in your device address book

Share Online makes it easy to share photos and videos with friends and family straight from your Nokia mobile device. It integrates directly with Ovi by Nokia and other media sharing services. Share Online 4.3 beta is an update to version 3.1 and 4.0 which are currently shipping in several Nokia devices like 6220 Classic, 5320 XpressMusic, N78, N79, N85 and N96.

What’s new in version 4.3:

  • Direct share to Contacts – You can now share directly to contacts in your device address book.
  • Improved Post Editor – Easier uploading with a streamlined post editor screen. Easier to select destinations for sharing and upload and easier to see all the items you’re uploading.

What’s new in version 4.0:

  • Background Uploading with Outbox: You don’t need to wait for one item to be uploaded before sending more. See a list of pending uploads, as well as review, cancel or retry specific uploads. You can also use the Outbox to keep track of which photos and videos you have already uploaded.
  • Economic Sharing: If you don’t have an affordable data plan, you can disable the use of cellular data in the Share Online settings. This queues your photos and videos to be uploaded as soon as a WLAN connection is available.
  • Active Standby Indicators: Outbox info is visible and accessible in your active standby screen so you can track the status of your upload.

Compatibility and system requirements:

  • Requires Symbian S60 version 3 Feature Pack 2: Version 5 support is coming soon.
  • The following devices are supported in this release: N78, N79, N85, N96.

Release Notes:

  • Do not install over the following Share Online version due to a compatibility issue with the photos framework: 4.0.09.05, 4.0.09.06, 4.0.09.07, 4.0.09.08, 4.0.09.09, 4.0.09.10. To check what version of Share Online you have, go to Options->About in the application.
  • Do not install over previous versions of Share Online 4.3 that are in ROM.
  • To uninstall this version, you will need to restore the device.

I install this Share Online v4.3 on my N96-3 and it didn't run at all. However I am now looking for the original version of Share Online. I think it's version 3.1.08.23. I get the following error now, Network -5120

The app freezes up the entire phone (N85) after it starts up. It displays the message "searching for online services, this may take some time" but it has been 10 minutes and nothing yet. Phone frozen with all lights on. I will let it run some more and see what happens.

I *just* have to resist installing these betas, they seem to be pretty unstable of late...

Well, it installed to my N79 pretty well but can you do to next update some optimation there. The app is pretty slow to use!

its no suprise that us n95 users get the big greasy shaft from nokia. Well its time to look elsewhere for a company that dont abandon their so called flagship. It sucks that i just ordered parts to fix mine. What a waste.
