Please take Nokia Photo Browser survey (would you take this kind of surveys in the future?)

If you have tried Nokia Photo Browser beta, please take this survey: (should take less than 1 minute)
take_survey.jpg

This is a pilot survey for something that we are planning to deploy systematically across Beta Labs. The idea is that for each app, we would ask ~100 random users (out of those who tried it) to answer these standard 10+1 questions. Since the question set is based on years of user experience research conducted in Nokia, we believe the results would be very helpful for us.

This means we would have two main feedback tools:

  1. User experience survey (= quantitative feedback) for identifying what are the strengths and weaknesses (as you can compare the results against other apps)

  2. Feedback dialogue (= qualitative feedback) for figuring out how to actually improve it

Would you find it acceptable if we asked you to take this kind of survey about once a month? (via home page links, pop-ups, emails, or sms messages)

Emailing a link to surveys seems to be the best way at least for me. I always check the blog a few times a week but emails get there quicker :)

Please no pop-ups!

I'm happy to fill out surveys, but i think that quite a few of the questions on that particular survey are not relevant to photo browser

The surveys are important and useful for betalabs.
It is a good chance for me to provide my opinion quickly and to affect the resulting product.

I wouldn't mind filling in surveys either and have just completed this one for the Nokia Photo Broswer. I did however, wonder where the link to the survey was as I thought the image of the question mark button was just an image and not a link, lol!

As long as surveys aren't solicited via SMS or popup I'd be happy to complete them, either via email or a link on the site

Sure, any way to get feedback from users must be a good thing (as long as it is opt-in). Why not have a "Can we contact you later" tickbox on the download page for each app?

Yeah, I know... On the other hand, there is a lot of value in consistency i.e. asking the same set of questions every time. I'm not sure should we ask these semi-irrelevant questions every time, or not.

I think it depends how targeted and specific to the application the information in the survey is.
For an early beta there are bound to be performance and compatibility issues which will reflect in survey scores. It may not be all the rewarding to have generic survey scoring for common type categories which will, by nature of a beta, tend to score very lowly.

I think the usefulness will really come down the how you intend to use the data? i.e If intention is to trend user perception of one projectt in comparison to others thereby requiring common question set - maybe not all the useful.

No objection to a survey, just curious about the goal here...

I already get one suggestion but it's about the scroll on S60 v5 devices. it could really pratical for all 5800 holders to get a real tactile scroll , just like all others tactile devices from other brand (not only with the bar scroll)
so just like in the application GRAVITY so please make an update or something in aim to integrate it in all menu of the 5800 (later in n97) like in message menu and everything else...
and I think a survey or a poll about it could be useful for you and for us (and I hope everybody agree with me) ... please ... thanks
(excuse me for my english, I'm french)

Anything which channels the feedback back to the team is acceptable to us. No issues with the surveys. Keep them coming :)

Great App

nice additions. One thing I notice though. When the phone is in portrait mode, the popup menu is still displaying the menu in landscape. I guess the when the menu is displayed, the orientation of the phone should be detected. otherwise, great app. can't wait for the next update.

Bad zoom quality and face detection

Everythings just fine exept that it doesn't zoom all the way in and the zoom quality is worser that the original 5800 galery zoom.
And the face detection only detects clear faces, only in high quality photos or when the are large (close to the photographer)
(and yeah I would like surveys)
