Beta Labs mobile site beta launched, blog renewal!

mobile site screenshotBrowsing Beta Labs on a mobile device was becoming cumbersome, but it is time to get relief for that now. Let me present: The mobile optimized Beta Labs!

Now, if you point your mobile device to beta labs (want a 2D barcode?), it should identify your mobile device and show you the mobile optimized version of the site instead of the desktop version. If this doesn't work, or if you're curious to see it on the desktop browser, you can scroll down to the bottom and click the "Show mobile version" button.

We know it is still miles from being perfect, but you have to admit, its a big step into the right direction! Please, try it out and post your feedback on the Beta Labs specific forum.

The  blog got renewed now as well. Now, the blog has been moved under the same system, so you are logged in with your Nokia Account. Commenting is done in the same familiar way as in the forum. There are still some rough edges on it, so feedback is welcome on that, too!

I hope you like them!

Signing in

Just to let you know, when you actually sign in while browsing the mobile site, it reverts back to the full version, not back to the mobile version.

Great work though guys.!

Very nice automatic scaling

Very nice automatic scaling of the mobile site.
I used it between the 5800XM & N85.

Other problem I've found,

Other problem I've found, avatars don't work on comment threads in the mobile version, they get linked as betalabs.nokia.com/files/imagecache/avatar_badge/pictures/picture-xxx.jpg when it should be just betalabs.nokia.com/files/pictures/picture-xxx.jpg from what I've tried.

Mobile Version of Nokia Beta Labs, well done!

hats off you guys! I posted about launching mobile site, I was assure to be launced by May 2009.
You nice guys kept ur promise.
Now I feel easy at Nokia Beta Labs using N82.
Best is switching between mobile to web and vice versa.

Maybe now...

Maybe now you'll soon be able to enjoy the members forum and such on one's mobile devices... =) which at least on my n95 has been kinda awkward. (especially posting)

It doesnt look so great on my n96 via opera 8.65 as the forum tap appears on the next line in front of the beta and blog tabs.

N78 here...

Looks good until I sign in, then it reverts to the regular website.

Definitely in Beta still... :)

Mbile Site on desktop

I wondered why the layout was so strange in FF3 on my desktop. Now I know: Firefox shows the mobile version on my desktop. How's that?
