Today we announce that the 5800 Nokia Messaging client is available through email.nokia.com. As I noted when we put this client on betalabs, “We are putting this client out to begin to gather feedback for the next version of the S60 5.0 client: don’t expect changes between this client and the final release for everyone in May". The main thing we’ve done since putting this online is translating it into twenty more languages and fixing a few small bugs, and we’re already well underway working on the next release.
We have taken all of your feedback into account for the next version of the client which is coming this summer. One of the biggest requests is for HTML, and I’m happy to say that we’ll be bringing that to you. Another is homescreen integration – you’ve probably noticed that the 5800 does not have the traditional S60 home screen for integration that Nokia Messaging traditionally uses. Trust me – we understand the importance of email notification, and are working with the device team in order to deliver you better notification. Support for APN Destinations is another request we’ve seen that we’re working on, and there’s been a lot of really smart suggestions regarding the interface that we’re taking into account. Finally, we also hear you regarding refining the touch control and scrolling within the email client.
The reason we put this prerelease out was to get your feedback, and we’ve heard it loud and clear. We have seen a very positive response to this client and we have been especially pleased how many people signed up through Beta Labs. I want to thank you profusely for both your comments and complaints about Nokia Messaging – they help us to make a better product.

Just to clarify then, there is not a new version available at this time, correct? You're just moving it from one place to the other?
Like ricky asked, is this a new version ?

Basically, yes - if it works for you now, there's no reason to update. If you had installation problems because of client/SMS disconnects, it might work better for you through email.nokia.com, but the new version incorporating feedback is coming in the summer.

id hoped for an update. Oh well. Congrats anyhow!
Congratulation for new official version of Nokia Messanger.. unfortunatelly there is a little bug.. on my 5800xM new mail icon doesn't appear when I'll recive new emails..
please correct this bug...thanks
moreover... Nokia Messanger doesn't work with my work account...when I try to setting up my account, nokia messanger say me there was an error...
My email server is based on Horde system and supply both POP3 and Imap protocols...
Great job and congratulations on the graduation!
For notification. Since the 5800 does not use the traditional homescreen, one thing might be to make the app work the way the native email app works with the "fave 4" contacts. I like how that one has a star and a thread of recent communications, including email. This, of course, does not work with the 5th ed. Nokia Messaging. I'd like to see that.
