Nokia Image Exchange - Widening Operator Support and Web Updates

Nokia Image Exchange service was updated last week. Along with the server update came wider support for operators and thus more of you should be able to register and try out what the service is like. The list of supported operators has grown considerably but not every operator is covered. The operator support can now be more easily checked from Nokia Image Exchange website under system requirements on the download page or help page.

The second change to the web interface is that it now allows sharing images to your contacts. This is easily done via sharing panel in image view. Viewing images from your friends can also be done via the web service. This is done so you can decide to use whichever interface that better fits your needs.

A new client of Nokia Image Exchange is also to be released today. Along various bug fixes there are also bigger changes.

Interface has been translated to English, Russian, Spanish, Finnish, Chinese and Swedish. Do note that some languages such as Chinese depend on the firmware to be able to show the characters correctly. Changing language requires to restart Nokia Image Exchange.
Image rotations now work on 3.2 devices with accelerometer (e.g. N85)

Nice to see IE getting updated. The last version was virtually unusable on the N85. Installing this now, hope it works fine.

It will be interesting to see how Image Exchange, Photo Browser & Ovi Share all get combined into one service at one point in the future.

I have version 95 now and I can't install the new one. It says it has to close the app, then starts to install, then says it can't. I tried turning the phone off and then immediately uninstalling the old version, but it turns out I can't uninstall the old version, either.

I so need that s60v5 version to release so that I can run Image Exchange on my N97. Does this new release with no s60v5 support mean that we've got another month or two before we could hope for an s60v5 version to appear?

Unfortunately we had a mishap. This new version does not yet support older 3.0 devices. We've worked on the support but it was not included in this release as it was not yet ready. My deepest apologies for misinformation.
