I think you guys are just about to "graduate" OVI suite 2.0

I tried latest beta, and found it still not so good, slow, heavy on system resources, lacking many PC suite features.

I hope that you have many things/fixes/improvements planned for stable release version.

Suyog

The suite is not yet ready, unless there have been tremendous changes since the release we get and the final release it shouldnt exit BETA status.

Nope - you are not getting closer to the final release, far from.
Tell me are you at all reading the feedback you are getting on the beta site, about this program? You do not have to be a rocket scientist to deduct that the general feedback you get is far from positive.

To be honest I think you have some executive sitting somewhere in Finland and did not attend all the MBA classes he should have. And his/hers plan is to make to make OVI store a success and Ovi-suite is the weapon to do this.

BUT you are doing a huge mistake pressing this piece of alpha software down our throat. This gives me thoughts about the upgrade from Windows XP to Vista.

You will fail - so sit on this untill it is ready.

Jeeeezzz - what is the idea about an interactive beta site, if you do not at all listen to your users.?

At the moment this software is way to resource hungry and intrusive to be even considered for general release
High end users will resent the fact that the software is bloated and the way developers have decided that all the cpu draining processes should always run in the background regardless.
Also mid range users will be frustrated at the primitive ui and limited options etc
my opinion is that this should be just about out of Alpha

Totally agree.. please please please don't release it yet... Kept using it for 3 days now and its still a bit slow... sluggish really...

about the "music" part of OVI, i cant even view some songs inside my playlist which i used my phone to create... i cant understand this... why is it like that? does making a playlist from the phone create a different playlist format?

EXAMPLE: I create playlist "A" using the OVI suite. The playlist has 5 songs in it. once i disconnect my phone and im on the go, i decide to put 2 new songs into the playlist (using my phone). Once I get home and connect it to OVI suite, the 2 new songs DO NOT APPEAR in the playlist "A" instead i still see the first 5 old songs which i originally placed. Why cant the OVI suite detect the 2 new songs which i placed?

Is it really suppose to behave like that?

Hope to hear any comments from you... Thanks!

After installing the latest version of Ovi Suite, to my utmost disappointment, the program does not load successfully. It gives a C++ runtime error everytime it was started up! if I close the error message, the program will be closed too! that is the use of such a new version and it is being released?

Please don;t release it as what have been suggested by posters above. The application is resource hungry and takes more time to load than previous version. I have the Ovi Photo for downloading from Ovi Share for tumbnail when all the pics are already in my hdd!

I have always MTP driver errors and the backup always crashes without an error. The icons in the cell phone (Nokia 5800) always dissapear, and the appears in others places (java apps and widgets). Sometime the app crash. The bluetooth not always recongnizes the phonel Thanks.

There is still a big problem with this version like with ovi map : NOTHING IS DONE FOR LINUX USER.

I agree with most of the comments posted above. I hope that the survey will throw some light on how disappointed users are with Ovi Suite 2.0 (alpha, beta or whatever you may call it)

Please post the results once the survey is closed.

I agree with everyone else, the Ovi Suite seems to be a step backwards. I installed and it unistalled PC Suite, yet I was left without features I need like Lotus Notes Sync. The Interface revamp is wonderfull, but it is slow, resource hungry, and filled with bugs. The only reason I bought a Nokia against the competition was that it included Lotus Notes sync natively with PC Suite. Now I'm left behind, I've better sell this and opt out for a Samsung or HTC?
And before someone says it, no, lotus traveler is not an option. I do not want to replicate with my server, I just want a quick and simple local sync to a local replica without the blotware.
Ovi suite 2.0 just doesn't cut it for me.

Installed Ovi Suite 2.0.1.35 and find it painfully slow, Then discovered my contacts in a mess after slow sync. Using E51 and Outlook I discovered some fields missing and new contacts with numbers as first and last name. Back to PC Suite.

Ovi Suite 2.0.2.42

Rather than using mass storage device to transfer a photo I just took, I decided to try and use BT and Ovi Suite.

Home->Photos-> then just hangs for many minutes. I can't see what's on the phone. It just shows the 'waiting' cursor. Not indication what's going on, when it might finish.

So how do I just transfer a picture I took? Can this even be done with Ovi Bloatware 2.0?

Edit:

It's equally bad with the cable connection - except that NokiaMServer then uses 100% CPU. At lease PC Suite gave an indiction of progress and completed the process in 30s or so with the cable connection
