Nokia Kamppi trial archived from Beta Labs
Mon, 2009-12-21 15:08 Written by Christian Del Rosso Hi all, With this post I would like to announce that the Kamppi trial is over and thank the many people that participated to our trial and the ones that sent us their feedback and suggestions. The trial ran from March 4 until Septmber 30, and over this time we have had over 15000 unique visitors. We got a lot of insights and experiences and in these months we have learned a lot from you, the users that tested our system and suggested new ways to improve the experience. All this work has been very valuable for us and we are now working on the next phase, making these experiences happen in the market place. Several initiatives have now started with the intent to transfer our learnings to Nokia products and services. Overall, it was a great experience and we, at the Nokia Research Center, and the group that worked in the Kamppi trial want to thank all of you. Christian
In this large-scale public trial (Kamppi is one of the largest shopping centers in Helsinki), we have had the opportunity to explore several innovations in different areas. On the technical side we had indoor maps, indoor positioning and indoor services such as the integration with social networks and sharing it own location with friends; on the business side we experimented with mobile advertising and digital vouchers.

Dear Christian Del Rosso and NRC team,
It was a great project NRC has at Kamppi! I do hope the Nokia indoor positioning will be further strengthened with better opportunity for other users around the world to experience this kind of services in the near future.
Thanks!
