New updates for Nokia Image Exchange
Fri, 2010-01-29 15:00
We previously launched a pre-Beta touch version of Nokia Image Exchange. This unfortunately had some issues that needed immediate attention. Today we have released fixes that should make the application more stable. Also included is some UI polish.
Likewise, the non-touch version is receiving update as well, also to address found issues.
Nokia Image Exchange is an experimental imaging service to make browsing and sharing images fun and easy. It aims to provide a seamless integration of a mobile image gallery application and a corresponding web-service. Nokia Image Exchange explores the possibilities of the mobile phone when it is enabled with always-on data connection and utilizes existing contact information as a basis for social networking.
Nokia Image Exchange for S60 touch is available for downloading at imageexchange.nokia.com. The touch version has been tested on Nokia 5530, 5800 Xpress Music, N97 and X6. Nokia Image Exchange is also available for other devices (S60 non-touch, S40) via Ovi Store. These versions are more mature and as of now offer more features.
On behalf of Nokia Image Exchange team,
Janne Kaasalainen

I really, really want to try this out, but, it seems support for Movistar Chile is not coming :( -- is this "non-supported" list maintained by hand?, I think I ready somewhere a few weeks ago some providers were being (actively) blocked because of SMS issues...

Need to post again to acknoledge that my brain had accidentally fallen out of my ear and I downloaded and installed the non-touch version by accident on my N97 and this was the reason why it did not work. After uninstalling and downloading and installing the touch version it started fine. Still not seeing my shared images and friends on the mobile client.

Finally!!!
After I change from N78 to 5800XM i lost this amazing application, and finally it came to S60v5 :D even if I have the idea that in my N78 S60v3 the Nokia Image Exchange looks better, but well it's a pre-beta and it's already a good step the fact that already exists a S60v5 version, better that one that nothing ^^
There doesn't seem to be an option to set an image as your home screen wallpaper - surely a pretty basic feature to include? Without it I have to fire up the standard gallery app (or any other image app that supports using an images for wallpaper), find the same image again, and THEN set it to be the wallpaper!
More usable image rotation (i.e. fewer taps to rotate 270) would also be appreciated.
Images should be rendered straight to the correct (native) handset screen resolution but they're not...
i.e. when rendering hires images (of greater resolution than handset screen resolution - e.g. 5mpx) to fill the screen (default view) it doesn't seem to render them at native screen resolution, it renders them at something lower then stretches them to fill, which looks awful!
I cant uninstall the old version (0.98) and I can't install the newest version 0.99 on my 5800XM.
Somebody could help me?
Thanks!!
