Nokia Messaging for Social Networks Beta update

Hello,

You spoke. We listened. Thanks for the constructive commentary about the E63, E71 and E72 beta clients for Facebook and Twitter. While there were over 20 great suggestions for improvements to the client, in particular we understand that speed is the top priority and initially loading more feeds would both go a long way towards making this a better experience.

As Betalabs users, you understand this is a place where Nokia product teams can receives feedback. We’re going to remove this particular application, since we have the feedback we need to prioritize our efforts for the next iteration. You may continue to use it if you've already downloaded it. We've learned a great deal from your comments. Thanks for your feedback and support,

Thanks,

The Nokia Messaging Team

Take the 5th edition version also back to alpha state and come back with some major improvements with a new beta.
We want smoothness, not lagness.

I guess you can't handle the flood of complaints.

I hope the removal of the beta is the start of a new era, not the end.

Word harder and faster, please.

Hey, you earn respect for admitting your fault and working on improving it. Thanks for listening to our comments, we are all here to make Nokia better after all.

This is misleading. The removal of beta means you are working on improving it, or you just stop working on it????

Really? You've got to be kidding Beta labs, "you listened" Ha Ha, you made my day, speed has been the problem number 1 since day 1, and nearly 8 months later you decide that you listen people? Hell yeah, I guess it takes some time for Nokia to listen customers, and by listening, you remove the program? is that listening? or is that giving up?

You see, there's a great twitter tool called Gravity, you should learn a thing or two from the guys behind it.

I hope next time you make an actual program, not a stupid widget-like one.

Thanks for taking consideration of our comments for improvements in Nokia Messaging for Social Networking.

Looking forward for next release bundled with high speed, large news feed, auto refresh, pic upload for tweets and lot more!

Thanks for consideration again! Till now good job by beta labs and looking forward for the same too!

Regards,
Yogesh

I personally think its time to rename this application, as its far too confusing for some people, myself included. Why not simply call it "Nokia Social".?

glad to see ... such an honest response. If you guys are back to drawing broad .. then that makes me damn excited about the new product for our road warriors / mobile messengers. wish you luck

can you please confirm if this means you are permanently stopping support for the E63, E71 and E72 or you have pulled the application due to major bugs and are working on a new version for these devices?

Thank you.

"We’re going to remove this particular application..."

Once an app is on BETA, removing it usually means it has been "cancelled". Unless Nokia developers have a really weird way of doing stuff.

I know what the real problem is... they keep trying to develop apps on JAVA so one size fits all ... but that won't work on this case.

Why Gravity is such a great & fast app? Because it a native S60 app, not a Java midlet.

Nokia developers should ask Gravity developers to "teach" them how to develop a working S60 app.

Nokia is becoming a Joke, thanks to their underskilled software developers.

Nice, censorship on Nokia Betalabs forums.

if the people from RIM or Apple read this post, they'll laugh till death..

Maybe they'll say something like this also: "look at this company, tryin to beat our social networking app without understanding the best way to create app on their own devices. LOL"

@ davidromero

I'm not a developer but I don't think the problem is Java... if you try Snaptu (which I used on my E72 before Communities and I'm starting to use again) you'll find that even a Java midlet can be complete, fast and nice looking. :-)

@ the development team. Thanks for the update. Look forward to seeing the next version. I remember back in December 2009 you pulled the service for a while to action some of the suggestions and updates and released the updated version later.

Is this your intent again?

@davidromero: I would be interested to know where you have been censored.

If you find a post helpful give it a thumbs up.

its really weird a HUGE company like NOKIA cannot make a good app for its device (for this case nokia messgng for social network) how manny team do u have there at nokia beta labs???? why dont optimized this app for each series? like for E Series, for Nseries..... n why blackberry n apple have good social network for their device? n work nicely..no slow..etc.. because i think they optimized the app for its OS system... hope u can work more efficient.

beewaxx, I second you.

This is so weird. Nokia is HUGE. Your hardware is so good. But what's wrong with your softwares!?

If you want to build a social network app, why don't you study from the best one which is Gravity (for Symbian) first? Copy their IDEA. Rewriting by your own. It's LEGAL.

OK. Now that you support Meego/Maemo/etc which are OpenSource and debian based, it seems softwares running on those platform will be awesomely awesome due to its OpenSourceNess. But I don't have enough money to get the N900... and it seems you are going to continue support Symbian, don't you!?

i agree with u chaitat ..

gravity is good one... great app...

please nokia... listen to us!! make a great app. the same like u make great phones!!!

the n900 is too expensive.. i cant afford one.... besides i prefer qwerty phones... not the touch one..

lets hope for a better version

@llaadd - other than the availability of the Beta software, nothing has changed. We are still working to provide you with the best products that we can. Our beta customers spoke "Load and Clear". We working to improve and speed up overall performance.
