Go ahead, Make My App
Wed, 2010-04-28 12:42For those of you that have tried to submit ideas for new applications to Nokia Beta Labs before*, here's the perfect opportunity for you. Alongside yesterday's introduction of the new Nokia N8 came the opening of the Make My App competition.
Over the next two months you're invited to submit ideas for applications in one of four categories and vote on the ones you want Nokia to make. The ten ideas that get the most votes each week will be shortlisted, and guest judges will choose three ideas from each category. If your idea is one of the final twelve, you'll win a trip to Nokia World in September in London, your idea will be made into a real application by professional developers, you'll receive your own Nokia N8 with the app installed on it, and the app will be distributed on Ovi Store.

Hey guys it seems there's just too many workless engineers at the Nokia labs.
So how about you make them sit down and write something every nokia owner with a 5th version symbian's been waiting for ever?

Hey, are you aware that most Nokia sold in Latinamerica have huge bugs? I´ve been having trouble for months and there´s no response from Nokia representatives in Argentina!!!

Playing fair with a sporting chance
All competitions can be open to foul play, and that's why there always needs to be a proper referee. We are keeping our eye on the game and have now released an additional check to the voting process to separate real votes from votes added by cheating, or simply bending the rules.
All votes given before 30.4.2010 5 pm GMT will be inspected and all votes deemed resulting from cheating will be removed immediately. This competition is a fair and equal chance for everyone, and we want people to use their creativity on their ideas and not in fixing the game.
